Ya, this is old news. I did a write up on how to fix this yourself a long time ago since GM Goodwrench has no clue. I can't remember where I put it, so I'll just redo it and put it in the How To section.

Dont feel bad i have had my switch and trim replaced three times and i just had my trim fall off again. I think iam done with dealer and i'll just glue it up there myself.

You dont need any glue just bend the metal tabs and it will stay clipped in place.

Ok guys.. this is what my sunroof clip looks like right now..

can someone please tell me that they're nuts in that this is all they can do.. and also.. yes.. that's DIRT all around the switch.. nice job eh?



taken with a camera phone.. if someone needs a hires version just to verify or whatever.. let me know

I'll tell you what, I never saw Toyota or Honda Service techs do so much Jimmy Rigging as i've heard and seen with GM's techs before. I would not have even accepted the car back that way.

The switch itself has not been pushed all the way back into the clip. It's not a problem per se, but it is pretty crappy work. You could simply push the switch up, and it will seat completely into the clip. You run the risk of popping the trim ring back off however. Go look at the How To section.
