Thoughts on This Car
Not sure if this is the correct section, my bad if it isn't. I know some forums have areas where newbies like me can post up potential buys and see what the vets can point out in terms of mods and things that look wrong, so I'm here to get some insight on this car: it is a 2006 SS/SC, Blue with 51,755 miles, dealer is asking $8,950. The car is in Ohio and I live in PA, so I can't just drive down the road for a quick test drive. I sent the dealer a bunch of questions regarding any transmission issues, major scratches/dents/rust, if there is a carfax they can e-mail me, etc etc. I offered $8,350 if the car comes with at least a 3 month/3,000 mile warranty, waiting on reply. Any advice would be appreciated.

ask them if it has the G85 package. Maybe if someone is close on the forum they can look at it for you too. That isnt a bad price for having low miles. If it has g85 that would be perfect. Um the main thing is to see if its been modded, has coolant in the oil, compression on each cylinder or if the SC is making noises.

looks nice. I ran it through gm though. a few things you'll wanna know. I show it has a salvage title and has warranty block since january 2010. looks like it spent most of its life in deleware. It doesnt have g85 but does show it had a trans replacement at 44000 miles. good or bad is up to you I guess.

that cobalt looks sick. im 2hrs and away..... if i drive the speed limit i took a glance at it and it looks like a good bet to me. i would look into the salvage title and all that. but its not a bad brice at all for that car. it looks great!!

I'm kind of turned off by the salvage title. Call me cheap but I want something that has under 60k miles with a clean title for less than $10,000. I can't see paying upwards of $12,000 for a SS/SC when the SS/TC can be had for around $15,000 now a days.
