Trailer hitch question (SS)
#26
Go ahead and tow something with your manual cobalt you'll regret having to pay for its repairs.

I'm no expert but don't see any problems with light loads and stick. Dads old 2.2 SFI sunfire pulled two medium sized sea-doo's on a trailer not a problem for many seasons.

Roof is cooler, hitch is smarter. Roof kills mpg, hitch not so much. I get almost identical mpg towing a snowmobile + trailer (~900lbs) as i do with 2 bikes on the roof. Towing a pwc got slightly better mpg, aerodynamics!
At least parts are a dime a dozen if and when things go bad!

Hey, so I've got a 2010 SS, and I want to throw a trailer hitch on my car cause I love mountain biking, but theres no way in hell the bikes going inside the car lol. I looked on some hitch website earlier today and they said "Not for SS model" why's that? The exhaust or something? Anyone know of a place I can get a hitch setup for my car?
So how did/does it work out for you?
My driveway is kinda hilly so Id be alittle concerned about the bottom scraping. But it shouldn't scrape anymore then the front, wich only scrapes if I don't go at an angle.
... and after necroing this thread due to use of the search function, the item talked about in the thread is now the lower banner ad.

Arg!
Ok so I just got mine today! It was waiting for me on the porch. I was happy!
I open it up, and start going through all the peices and parts...
They shorted me on hardware!
I sent an email to customer service.
Aperently bagger "A" needs to learn how to count.
I'm short 1 botl, 1 block, 2 washers, and 2 nuts.
Hopefully they will send the correct amount of hardware. We'll see.

YAY I got all the correct hardware now!
They sent me 3 boxes of the stuff so I have extra!
So when you tow a support / pit trailer to the racetrack like in the picture. Do you take off the hitch reciever? I mean woudlnt it weigh/slow you down? Woudln't it be better to put that stuff in the trunk so you're not weighted down by the hitch reciever?

Take the hitch off (pita)
then put it in the trunk,
so you're not weighted down ???????
So the hitch magically weighs less when you put it in the trunk ?????
lol I guess I don't follow

What I mean
Take your hitch off. Leave the hitch at home. Leave the trailer at home.
Put the air pump, spare tires, tools ect in the trunk. Then when you get to the
track leave them in your pit area.
Or
Take the hitch off leave the hitch at home.
Have a friend tow the trailer with all the stuff with his pickup truck.
