TSB# 10256 :( Iginition Cylinder Failed

First post here, unfortunately its because my ingition cylinder has failed. My key would not turn to the off position at all. I had to pull the fuel pump relay to get it to shutoff.

I was reading up and apparently there is a TSB for this issue, my car is a 2009 cobalt, so it SHOULD be covered. Document ID: 2552146

Problem is I called the dealership and they said it would cost me $400 bucks. Yet in the TSB it states.

"Dealers are to service all vehicles subject to this program at no charge to customers, regardless of mileage, age of vehicle, or ownership, through January 31, 2013. "

also

"What We Will Do: Your GM dealer will replace the ignition lock cylinder. This service will be performed for you at no charge until January 31, 2013."

Now heres the thing, I didn't buy this from a dealer. I bought it from Enterprise with the powertrain warranty. Does this mean I'm out of luck and have to fork over the $400 bucks since I didnt buy it from the dealer?

Print that ****** out and be nice. Say "Here is the TSB from GM. I would like this fixed at no charge, if not, I'll contact GM personally"

End of discussion.

Yep your best bet is to contact customer service at GM and let them work it out with the dealer.

All involved vehicles are identified by VIN in the Global Warranty Management System...

Direct quote from the bulletin.

Your VIN may not have this special coverage listed when looking it up in VIS. If it doesn't have that special coverage listed, it doesn't cover the car.

Will you PM me your VIN so I can look into this for you?

An ignition failure like this shouldn't occur, you guys (if you really are customer service) should look into a recall. Just saying.
