Water Wetter??
Anybody use water wetter in the cooling system for the SS/SC?? Mainly for modded cars. It supossed to make your temp run 13-15 degrees cooler.

Reason it does Zip, is cause the temp can only run as low as the Thermostat will let it. You can't add the stuff and expect it to run 170 when the stat closes at 185...it basically keeps the temp from going way high, it helps it loose heat faster, not run cooler.
It works GREAT on the old cars where you can actually take out your stat.

its good stuff, for a big high power v8. but thats a whole different beast. take the wildest cobalt here. it can be ran all day long, in and out of trafic with the ac blowing, sitting at stop lights, going through the drive through at McD's, whatever heat isn't a real issue.
look at a 60's era big block, those are heat producing monsters that even with the best cooling system have problems. running down the highway is about the only place safe, if the air temp is cool enough. go in town and its about 20 minutes of driving and 10 minutes of cooling off, even with a big aluminum radiator and an electric water pump. granted a stock engine wasn't that bad, but throw a hot cam in there and watch the temps climb like a monkey in a tree. then 13-15 degrees might be the difference of making it to a gas station or pulling off on the side of the road.
you don't need it, but it does work.
