WeatherTech Floor Mats

Hey all, I recently purchased some WeatherTech Digital Fit floor mats for my 2006 Cobalt SS. It is a manual, and I am aware that the only mats made are for automatics. I also know some people don't have problems using these mats in the manual cars, but others do and it leads them to modify the floor mat so the clutch pedal doesn't catch on it. My mats are installed in my car and my car did have this pedal cover installed on my clutch pedal that was larger than the actual pedal. This pedal cover was causing the clutch pedal to catch on my floor mat and get stuck. I decided to remove the pedal cover on the clutch pedal in order to make the pedal smaller to see if that would help. It did help but the floor mat moves around some and in certain position it wants to catch the clutch pedal still. My question is what does everyone use to cut or modify their floor mat without ruining a new set of 100 dollar floor mats?

Could you by chance provide a picture of your floor mat please?

Thanks

car is currently in storage, i may get down to start it on the weekend, i could take one then, basically i just cut a few inches off the whole front side of the mat where it curves up. i did a crappy job though because i was stuck somewhere in the dark and i had to do it to make it home without it catching,

You could heat gun it and see if you can bend the parts that interfere back.

Thanks everyone for the replies, I actually addressed the issue with the WeatherTech Floor Mats today. I pushed the mat forward as hard as I could with my hand (acting as my foot would be pushing the floor mat forward) and pushed the clutch pedal down with my other hand in order to find out exactly where it was catching at. Once I found out exactly where it was catching with the clutch still held down (it was still caught on the mat) and I took my pocket knife and cut a slit on the mat on each side of the clutch pedal for reference marks. I then removed the mat from the car and proceeded to carve out a small section of the mat, using the slits I made on the mat on each side of the clutch pedal with the clutch pedal caught on the mat as my reference marks. I re-installed the mat and it doesn't catch anymore. So all is good now! Thanks again everyone for your replies!
