Actually I prefer the redline to the cobalt... less popular and I like the front end more. The gauge cluster isn't that bad except for the boost gauge on the pre-06 (I've actually driven both so i'm not talking out of my ass ).

I don't know how you can look down on the other cars b/c of the name. Last I checked many people don't think to highly of most american cars when talking about looks, status, and oh gosh I'm going to say it, reliability. Especially when its a chevy.

Whats up with everyone thinking their opinion is a fact supported my the masses?

One again who are these "people"? You are demonstrating your lack of inteligence by making general statements. You are more than welcome to your opinion but please done make statements that you have no facts to support.

I think the Cobalt is a much nicer vehicle. But thats just my opinion.

I don't like the silly rear doors, and especially the dash board gauges being mounted in the centre. The styling is also not as attractive as the Cobalt.

Take an SS-SC over a Redline 10:1 any day of the week!

I like the redline, but like the srt4 (neon) I couldn't live with myself knowing I drive one. Mainly for this retarded interior

Are most of you even serious? I love my car, the srt-4, and the Cobalt SS. But when some of you talk down about my car. With your only reason being that Saturn = Crap is RIDCULOUS. I mean if I wanted to, I can say all of you are just driving around the latest Cavalier. Which IMO is one of the absolute worst cars ever made. In the end no matter what company makes the car, if the car itself is fast, and fast for the money, then I respect it. Even if Kia came out with a turbo 4-cylinder with over 200whp for under 20 grand. I would still like love their car.

Oh and here's a pic of my car if you couldn't catch the hint that I own a RL

I like how aggresive the front valence is on the RL, but I can't get used to the center-mount guages.

The look on someones face after getting owned by a Saturn, Priceless. My friend wants one for that reason alone.

Everyone is going to have their reasons for liking or disliking a car. Honestly though, if your reason is because it's by (enter car company here), then your no better than the biased journalists out there. I love the SS/SC, but I would buy a redline over it because it's more of an original vehicle, and I love originality. In fact, when people see my ION sedan, they may like it or dislike it, but chances are they haven't seen a modded one around. Yeah the interior isn't a up-to-par as in the cobalts or other vehicles, but it's original and I love the center gauges. They took a matter of a day or so to get used to and now I prefer them to conventional gauges.

The latest pics of my ION sedan can be found here: http://members.cardomain.com/saturnd00d

The fact of the matter is the Ion and Cobalt are just like the Sunfire and Cavalier were. If you want to really get into it, you have the Redline and SC SS - just like we had the Firebird and Camaro.

Many people misunderstand Saturn, but I assure you that Saturn is going to be here for a long long time. They are getting some new products (Sky and Aura) that are going to really go over well. The Satrun S car (SC/SL/SW) that most people are familiar with were actually very good cars. They were cheap and there are still a TON on the road. For the price, they were an excellent buy. They were also their own body - not a J-body or anything like that. Their 1.9 SOHC and DOHC set the "mold" (no phun intended) for foam casting in GM. Look are your Ecotec's and you'll see the block and head looks like foam. This foam casting process was put into the mainstream back in 91 by Saturn (I say mainstream as I do not know if another manufacturer actually developed the foam-form process).

Sure, Saturns are very uninspiring and pretty boring IMO, but they are a quality car at a bargain price.

You think if I purchase a Saturn ION redline and then replace body panels and dash with the Cobalt SS/SC that would work? I really like the small suicide doors.....is the body shape comparable to the SS/Sc?

On another note, I think the new Dodge charger should have gone with suicide doors for the rear doors (if it had them at all) The original was a 2 door, the new one would sell better if it looked like one....

Is a Dash swap from the SS/SC to the Ion RL even possible?
