Yours wasn't seized? Mine was a bitch to get off. Broke the mount but bent it and got it solid with zip ties.

It would be in your best interest to not let your tires ever get to that point again. Your life is at stake my friend.

In an accident of any type, police always check the rubber of both vehicles. Huge factor.

Personally I only buy the best tires for myself. Dedicated winter tires. Money wisely spent.
I've been more than careful given i know I'm well past the wear indicators, trust me i know this isn't ideal but it was only out on the good winter days.. that said, I'm pretty sure I've found the reasoning why they are wearing like this.. I know its not from over-inflation as the centers would indicate, still at a small loss as to why the centers would do that.. nearly 100% positive this wearing characteristic is my lower control arm trailing bushing that is shot. After many many hard launches, repeated AutoX events and hard DD miles it looks like its tore up pretty good. Not really surprised if it is considering Powell always says they break down fairly easily when beaten on. The car surprisingly tracks straight and true just fine, which I find rather unbelievable but alas looks like its time to grab some new tires and install powells spherical CABs to get her back to any sort of spirited driving shape

I've been driving around my other car for the most part as of lately anyways.. dont really feel like sticking money into tires just to watch the car never get driven.. it can sit and not move on bald tires just as easily as new ones

nope, just grabbed the adjustable wrench out of my trunk got it tight on the base and gave it a twist... didn't even have to put much effort into it, after the initial twist it came off by hand

Lack of care. No excuse to let something so simple to check get that bad.

Yeah. It was seized. I grabbed the mount from the bottom and went to turn off the mast with a wrench but the mast post snapped off flush with the rubber bezel.

I ordered a brand new mount and I decided on a 13" mast (I still use FM occasionally).

Link to the new mount, I broke mine about a year ago now.

Under car rails on and old XXX rear swaybar off, I'll be listing it tomorrow.

Install wasn't too bad just time consuming, had to run and find 2 grade 8 bolts 4 washers and 2 lock nuts since John accidentally forgot them. Not going to complain, $5 in parts and saved way more on shipping because he brought them across the border and met a local.

Here is a link to one. I purchased both my new mount and new mast from ebay. I paid under $12 for mine with free shipping. Just search around a bit. GM no longer produces the mount for the 05-06 cobalt (6mm). the 07-10's are 7mm. It's part #15878187. Just keep that in mind if you have a mast you plan to reuse with your new base. I'm not sure which year 'balt you have.

I felt mine bending so I tried to hold it from the inside. Still bent and the welds snapped. Bent it straight and the welds kinda fit back into place. Added zipties for insurance.

I had read about the base welds snapping so I grabbed mine with vice grips before attempting to wrench off the mast. Unfortunately, the post that threads into the mast sheared off.

[IMG][/IMG]

The only way to fix this is to replace the base.

If I ever have my car resprayed, I will have this hole closed off and painted over. I'll buy a Cruze antenna and just have one antenna on the roof for both analog and digital radio.

Thanks I'll have to get that, I've got an 09 with it just zip tied on there and an Ark shorty (they run about $40 so I've got to make sure I get the right one).

As for the sway bar it's going to be first to offer what I'm asking.

finally after a couple of hickups with installing Powell's YYZ springs a couple weeks ago,i finally got around to correcting a couple things. a cross threaded strut nut and a couple of brain farts along the way and the help of some CSS members for answering my questions,it got it done and back on the road! and during this install last night and today of the front struts,i came across a finger tight T-CAB bolt which was rather crazy,i had the dealership install them and thought they would be reliable and torque everything down, guess not though!

but shes back on the road and hunky doory!

They're like $150 if you have the lights and take 3 hours at the most to make.
