I put tape on it, but nope. It would still come down. I will hate the hole, but I dealt with that useless DVD player's screen for too long.
Plus, I threw it away anyway, so it's not going back on. lol

Made me a trip to the junk yard and joined the ranks of the wingless. I'm still not 100% on how I feel about it yet but, I love the fact that I can actually finally see out of my entire rear window though! That, and the wingless trunk is SO much lighter than the trunk with the highrise. I was pretty surprised actually.

I've been thinking about going wingless since I bought my car last year, I mean I like the high rise, but I kind of hate it too.

Only thing preventing me from going wingless is the fact my car is a unique color. I won't even be able to find the plugs in the same color.

I really like the Tjin trunks, but the quality of the carbon fiber and duraflex trunk lids are hit and miss.

I got mine for $120 in great shape and it was only 10 minutes from my place. I'm not quite sure about silver, but I was able to find 4 black trunk lids within 20 minutes of me, so I'm sure you could find one relatively close for a good price. I think the most expensive one I found was like $175.

Ahh, the glory of having an overly abundant color type.

Now there's a big hole in the ******* headliner. lol
I looked up replacement headliners, but I can't find anything affordable right now. I did find one being sold on gmpartsonline.net, but they wanted somewhere around $467 for it.

Edit: Here's the page
try a junkyard? that is god awful though.

I found this site called Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market after EmperorJJ1 suggested I check a junkyard for the headliner I need. I sent an email that is apparently going to be received by a bunch of different junkyards for exact price quotes and details. Not 100% sure if legit, but I'll report back on it whenever I do get contacted.

The site is completely legit. This is exactly how I located my trunk actually. They, and quite a few other sites like them, are linked to a nationwide data base for locating used parts and vehicles throughout many many junk yards in the counry. It can be hit or miss sometimes, but they use a rating system to identify the quality of the part.

Just be sure to someone at the actual junk yard who has seen the item and ask lots of question about anything you might be interested in.... miles, dings, scratches, dents, ect ect. Just don't feel obligated to purchase the part without laying eyes on it. This isn't a site unseen deal. If you show up, and it's a pile of crap. Just be courteous, shake their hand, say thank you very much, and walk away.

The vette/GTR style "4 round taillights" look is one of my favourite things about the balt.

I think putting on a G5 trunk just takes away from the look..... for me anyway.

What I'd love is to have the reverse lights from the G5 next to the license plate, and have the 4 tail lights be running, turn signal, and brake lights right from the factory instead of making me have to re-wire everything!! lol
