Made it home from Florida. Bought a new throttle body that has been ported and polished. Found a supplier for phenoic spacers that are aluminum ceramic wafers. Thinner than the wood resin ones I usually see. I'll be sending templates to them.

Went out to it, and started it up just to let the fluids flow through it. I hate that its in storage. But I'll bw happy when it doesnt have any rust due to these Wisconsin winters! Only 127 days! But who's counting?

Just got her towed to the shop. Hopefully this repair won't bankrupt me. Stupid $40 timing chain tensioner blowing up my entire car.

For some reason my PS headlight has condensation in it. So I cussed it for a while, then decided I didn't want to drive it today since it was bad. So I didn't. Got home walked by it again saw the condensation and cussed it some more. I'll deal with it tomorrow.

So apparently a dying timing chain tensioner sounds the same as a blown spark plug.

A few months ago I took a video of the engine bay ticking and everyone assumed it was the tensioner. So when my car got all messed up while I was driving one day, I figured that was it. I saved up about $1200 and had it towed to the shop yesterday after not driving it for 2 months.

He called me this morning and said it was a god damn blown spark plug. I owe him $3.

i thought about swapping my wheels and tires out since i have off today, but it's been snowing here all day and since i have to swap garages with it i don't feel like messing around with cold wet tires, so it will wait for another day

I limped her home and she sat there ever since. I took a video of the ticking noise and everyone here figured it was the timing chain tensioner so I never thought twice about it, haha. I didn't want to bring it to the mechanic without a decent chunk of money saved up figuring it'd need a whole near timing set. And since I'm laid off at the moment... it took a while.
