when did lsd become standard?
I've read on some websites saying that LSD became standard in 06+ cobalt models and other websites will say 07+ cobalts it became standard on. which is true? specifically the lsj ss.

In Canada:
1) LSJ's came equipped with a Quaiffe LSD only with the G85 option code package. This also meant they got Recaro seats. If the LSJ balt has stock SS seats, it's a non G85 and doesn't have the LSD.
2) All LNF's produced in Canada come with the LSD and there is no such thing as a G85 option code.
3) RPD's were impossible to find in Canada for the 08-09 turbos. Some do exist though. Chances are if you see a TC in Canada with RPD it's a 2010.

4) If the SC Balt has polished rims and a silver trim on the steering wheel its an 07.
5) If the SS badge is at the bottom of the door with supercharge badging beneath its an 06 LSJ
6) If the SS is midway up the door, its an 05.

To determine if you in fact have an LSD trans, you need to either inspect the tag on top of the transmission, or the build sheet under the carpet in the trunk.
Not sure if Canada had the same changes with the 07' SS/SC, but that is something to still look out for.
