nah, when i bought it i had planned to make it a show and race-only car. but since the theft of my integra GSR (daily driver and track car), the SS has become my driver. i'm in the process of working on my 70 skylark as well to get it as a daily driver so i can put less miles on the Balt.

I was considering it. That, or a turbo 5E swap, the 16 valve paseo engine. Either way, I get like 150 hp until I build the engine. Besides, I easily outrun the turbo tercels around here with my car. No complaints!! One of the Tercel shops you hear about is BYP, they are in the same warehouse my dads shop used to be in. I know them quite well, they were all amazed when they first saw my Cobalt. I went flying around the back streets by the shop on a test drive one day, and they rememberd the car when I stopped by a few weeks later.

I'm seriously trying to hold back doing anything to my car, been doing pretty good so far. But I'll still prolly end up buying rims though...as I hate hubcaps.

I planned to mod after 2 years (this month), but then I bought a house. Now I'm 'modding' my house instead of the Cobalt. So I'm as stock as the day I bought it, and probably will be until next year.

Yea I had the same thoughts as my last truck 1999 Tahoe was modded to the top with a Whipple SC, Possi & CAI with ram air & all the chrome I could buy & it was to the point I would blow trannys yearly if not sooner if I drove it easy, so I was leary of driving it on trips.

So when I bought the Balt I thought this is good enough & I don't have to do anything to it ha ha ha a few grand later I'm still looking at stuff

Those who can DO & those who can't don't Modding is like sex --- after the first time your hooked so mod on!

I did the same thing, bought the SS/SC for a quick DD out of the box. All my Mod money goes into my Z. But, now I find myself looking for ways to scrimp on the Z to put a little into the SS/SC...

Yes, I'm an addict. I just can't stand having a car that looks and runs like everybody else's.

yea... i bought my car because i only paid 8K for it and to me it was a good deal... ( '06 2.2L LS 25K miles for 8K) i had two eclipses before this car and they were both modded... i sold them dirt cheap and tried to get rid of the sickness that seems to affect lots of us.. the "mod-bug" right?.. ha ha... but... i've been posting in the F/I forum trying to figure out if i wanna go through the hassle of boosting again... but for sure.. this summer... ALL SHOW no go... then.. if someone can figure out the tuning problem with cobalts then it will be show and go...

ps... everyone i hang out with mod their cars too... my closest friend sold his turbo civic that we put blood sweat and tears into and bought a Acura RSX S... (thinking it was good enuff stock) ... but even he has spent large amounts of money and lots of time modding that car...

OEM is never good enough... whether it is show and/or go... one you mod one you mod them all.... in some way....

I told my wife my SS/NA would remain stock. Then all 4 of the stock wheels (made from badly recycled beer cans, no doubt) were destroyed on a pothole that didn't even mark the tires. So it got aftermarket wheels since they were about the same for 4 installed as 1 of the stockers. Once it had the first mod, I couldn't stop myself.

I shoulda traded for a 'vette before I started all this LOL. Probably woulda been cheaper in the long run.
