I left the plastic cover on the engine, it just looks cleaner...well.. in my situation

My engine cover is in the shed. I also noticed it a few degrees cooler with it off.

This, and you wouldn't believe the amount of dirt that thing traps under it. When I took mine off it was like emptying out a vaccume cleaner on top my motor!


Edit to assume OP was talking about the blanket on the underside of the hood lol.
