Why do people hate on SS/SC?

I get no hate as well. When I show my friends the SS and the numbers it produced...they just smile and say sweet! Is all this stock!? But no, its not the BEST car out there...its been in the shop already and its got 7,100 miles on it...whatever...but i'll tell ya, every asshat that has come up to me since i've had it, at a light, or on the highway...yeah...they can kiss my ass. Done.

I have a 2008 Cobalt Sport Coupe and a 2002 Firebird Trans Am WS6 with all the proformance do-dads. I find both alot of fun to drive. Yea the Firebird handles better and is faster, But! the Cobalt is alot of bang for the buck. It is in the price range most can afford. The new Turbo Cobalt SS will be comming closer to the 2002 Camaro/Firebird performance arena. It should be interesting. No matter what you drive someone will have negative things to say about it.

I have only had a few negative comments, mainly,"Is that a ****** Cavalier?" Other than that I seem to get a lot of complements. Normally my friends mess with me though since they have mostly 11-13 second cars and I am still stuck at 16's I just smile and tell them it is ok because I could still **** thier girlfriends if I wanted to. Normally they stop since they know it is true. Also my car is about 8" high and they hate it when I can blast over rough terrain and they have to prey they dont scrape off thier bumpers and lips and exhausts.

I had a riced out neon call MY car a ricer tonight!!! 
My car- 100% stock 
His car- Neon with wing big enough to use as a kite and an exhaust that needed some Beano!!!
And he calls MY car the ricer? Fricken kids!

I read one comment on their by a 14 year old who was bent out of shape because an STi spanked a Lambo. They're just ignorant little boys who don't know anything about cars. Don't take it to heart.

I get a little smack from some Camaro and Mustang guys, but we haven't matched up yet. All in good fun, and i spent less on my car, then they did on theirs!

this is true, the other day i was behind a H23 prelude and a Jetta. They raced each other and the prelude beat the jetta by 1-2 cars, i was behind the prelude while they were racing and had to brake because i was much faster than the prelude so i was beside the jetta while they were racing. I got to a redlight and there was a douche bag kid in the jetta that tried to be a punk and said "hows that stock turbo treating you" and i said that it was a supercharger but nice try and it was treating me well. then he said "its still stock" and i said "its still faster than your ****"
