The Turbo HHR rumor is just as proven as the turbo 2008 Cobalt SS.

No magazines have published spy photos of the Cobalt SS turbo, but they have the HHR turbo, every other f/i Ecotech in GM's line up are Turbo. Face it the ION and Cobalt S/C's are OBLSOLETE!

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but this is the only spy shot I know of for the HHR SS. Based on the way that plastic is mounted to the front bumper, that whole intercooler could be FAKE. I'm not saying it is, but it could be. Maybe it's there to disguise it from showing off the supercharged engine inside? Until I see a shot of the engine bay, or a press release from GM, the turbo Cobalt, or HHR, is a myth to me.

You forgot the carbon fiber body panels on the Z06.

I would not even include a Z06 in rice, that thing is just all raw nasty power and that carbon fiber is actually there for a reason!

Please tell me you were being sarcastic. There's a huge difference between carbon fiber on a ricebox civic and carbon fiber on high end car with supercar performance. The Carbon fiber on the Z06 is functional.

Besides, Hot Rod Magazine has published them, I think they would do there homework before publishing a picture of "some ******* tring to turbocharge his moms HHR".

Why would Hot Rod magazine give **** about an HHR Turbo?

Magazines have a hard enough time giving correct information about cars that actually exist.

Go throw a IC on the front of a G6, two weeks later there will be pictures in a magazine stating GM is turbocharging the G6.

The reason so many people are adiment about it is because Chevy has already confirmed a rework is coming for the Cobalt in 08.

Yes....a lot of info about a rework, but skin and plastic interior is a LOT easier than redoing powerplants. The redo for 2008 could just be a new grill to fit some future design motif Chevy wants for cars going forward....

It's not as hard to change engines as you think, the only change would be trans, engine cradle, and acessorys, in this case the turbo and piping is concitered an acessory. the engine cradle, and trans already exists in another delta body, the Astra. It's not that difficult.
As for the Hot Rod Magazine comment: if you look up hot rod in the dictionary you will see: hot rod also hot-rod (htrd)
n. Slang.
An automobile that has been rebuilt or modified to increase its speed and acceleration.
Sounds like a turbo HHR to me.
codyss, your comment "Go throw a IC on the front of a G6, two weeks later there will be pictures in a magazine stating GM is turbocharging the G6." why don't you put your money where your mouth is and do it, and prove to us theat they won't make a Cobalt/HHR turbo SS?

A complete Cobalt redesign is scheduled for 2008. New body panels, interior, and direct injection Turbo ecotoc. Don't believe me? Meh I could care less I have my sources.

It's going to happen folks just give it a couple model years.
