XM Radio
I'm almost finished with the free trial period.
My experience has been mediocre at best concerning "cut-outs" under power lines and the content is pretty poor (considering the number of stations available).
XM wants $15 CDN a month for a service that amounts to a $3-4 value.
What are your experiences with it?

XM is awful. Sirius is so much better. Oh and I can't stand how our stereos dont display the names of the songs... thats basically my fav part of having satellite radio. Am I missing somehting? Is there a way to display it?

yeah press the volume knob in. i like xm and am pleased with the service. i've heard there's not much difference in xm and sirius, but im content with just the xm
hd radio is free. local radio stations have to have the HD radio and then you will automatically get it assuming your h/u is HD compatible.

Sirius is much better (content) and for me, once I listened to satellite radio, thers's no going back.... and by the way, Sirius will be merging/asorbing XM sometime in the future if the government lets them...

sirius is way better. yeah they are not merging. if there was another company then they would. u cant create a monopoly. the merger will never happen. when my trial period of XM was over they were offering me 4dollars a month.

The idea of "paying for radio" seemed kind of retarded to me at first too, but I ended up keeping it. When I renewed for a year, I found out that I could use XM Radio online for free, which was nice while gaming and stuff. Now that XM Online is going to become a pay service, I don't know if I'm going to keep any of it.

i've thought about switching to sirius but im just gonna hold out for a better offer.
question: does sirius have the football channels? xm has golf, nhl, and baseball -- all of which i am not interested in.

i thought i was going to be the same way, but after my trial period ended i was relapsing for more commercial free/uncut radio.

Yes, Sirius has NFL. It also has NASCAR(with 10 stations carrying in-car driver feeds to pit crew and spotters), NHL,NBA, and tons of college stuff. Sirius also has Howard Stern, Bubba the Love Sponge.

The only "ads" I've ever heard are for the station I'm on or related stations. I've never heard anything that could be considered an outside advertisement.

Only the music channels are commercial-free. If you're listening to a news or sports channel, you're gonna get commercials. This goes for both XM and Sirius.
