2006 SS/SC, daily driving to and from work: 26-27 mpg. When I went to New Orleans over the Thanksgiving holiday to see my dad, I got an average of 32.2 mpg for the entire trip. That was with me (160 lbs), my brother (240 lbs), and probably 50 lbs of luggage/drinks in the car.

Do you have an SC or regular Cobalt? I can't speak for the nonSCs but in the SC there is no difference. The stock airbox is pretty free flowing and the only real difference is the sound. Granted you can expect fuel economy to go down because you want to hear the SC more.

Exactly, when my car was stock I would baby it and get 28 mpg. Now with just an intake, i like to hear the sound of the sc, thus mpg around 23-24 because of heavier foot.

I drive about 60% city and 40% highway, and I consistently get 27 MPG, according to the DIC. If I calculate it myself, its more like 23/24 MPG. The highest I've got so far is 34 MPG going to San Antonio and back, at an avg. speed of about 75-80 mph. Good luck.
