ok so hold the button down while its off, and then put the the run position? or do i put it into accersorie mode and then hold down and then put it into run?

You would like to reset your oil life after every oil change..since the car, the DIC, does not do it automatically. If not..your DIC will be reading a low oil life percent after an oil change, when the oil is at 100%.

i work at a dealership. you turn the key to the on position. within the first 5sec's before the lights go off press the gas pedal 3 time. allow another 5 sec's and it will re-set it.

I've done this accidentally before. I was wondering what happened because I know that I didn't go through the DIC menu.

thers another way to reset these?. this type of method works on all newer GM cars. this is how we were tought to reset them at valvoline instant oil change when i worked there.

Thats cool thanks for the info. BTW I was checking out your sig and I like the pic of the 19 Balts in a row, I think thats awesome, where was that photo taken just out of curiosity.

Pushing the pedal to the floor 3 times was the only way to do it in older GM models with the oil life monitoring system, ie 99-2002 Silverado's. There were no menu buttons to push and hold. Thats cool it works as well though.

press the gas pedal fully down 3 times within 5 seconds total and it should work most of the time you cannot reset it through the steering wheel buttons
