That's a nice write up. Hopefully I can find a copy, I'd like to have one for my collection. One problem with it though, it says they are taking us through the install on a 2006 SS but the car in the pictures is a Red Line.

Yes i know they say that in the mag, but not really a problem at all, because GM Stage II gets installed on all Cobalt SS/SC years the same & all Redline years the same, only thing that is different is the reflash code for 2007 model SS/SC cause of computers being different, dont know about Redline computers and if reflash is different for them

nice info!

Id just like to add....keep in mind that right in the GM catalogue it states that your stage II warranty will only be 12 months for the "do-it-yourself" installer.

As opposed to mimicing your 3 year vehicle warranty when installed at a dealership.

WHen you get the kit the instructions to install is very detailed. THe magazined gets you to do unnecessary work. you do not have to take of the throttle body or un bolt the fuel rail.... I have the article just as a collector. I had a good laugh with how difficult they made it to be. I did the install myself by the way so I know.

What about for the mere mortals that dont have a press to take off the pulley?
I guess the puller from the supporting vendors would suffice for both taking off and putting on the new pulley?

The ZZP Puller is your friend in this case.

So, I ordered my Stage II kit on Saturday from CED.

I am going to plan to do the install on 12/9, as thats the first day I have coming up to go get the flash done.

My question is, how long should this install take?

I will be renting the puller from ZZP.
Dont know if that makes a differance or not.

Basically though, I want to make my appt late enough in the day that I have plenty of time early on to get everything installed.

Also, listed above is a bunch of tools. The Torx wrench that is mentioned, does that come with the kit (I know it comes with some kind of wrench)? That is the only tool I wasnt familiar with.

Also, any other tips for getting this done are welcomed and much appreciated!

Thanks guys! (And Girls)

You know, I can't find that 8x1.25 pitch threaded rod pulley installer in shows in the directions. I am installing my stage II now and having in issue. Where can I get that tool shown in step 12? Also, I do not have a pulley press in step 11. Anything I can do about this? Everyone talks about a pulley puller, I can rent that from Auto Zone. Buy it, take it back and get a full refund. Anyone...help please.

I will deff. keep in touch. Thanks alot for the decent deal on the stage II. Have any luck selling your car yet? Yea, I think I'm going to just rent a pulley puller from auto zone and then see what happens. If I have to leave the car in the garage witout finishing I'll just drive my beater. 89 Geo Spectrum 4-door baby!

Torque Wrench Help

I went out this morning to finish things up with my stage 2 install and realized some rat bastard ganked my LB ft torque wrench. I have a Lb in torque wrench, but can't remember how if or how to convert LB in to LB ft. The directions say I only need a LB in so theres gotta be a way. Anyway any help would be appreciated.

12lbs in = 1 lbs ft
12inch = 1 foot
