I have no idea. I would be getting in touch with the company you bought them off of and see if they can replace the whole headlight under warranty. Usually there is a 30 day warranty on most stuff.

I wonder how hard it would be to open them up and modify the shield on the projector to minimize that flare up on the right side and make the output a little more flat.
I have halogens in mine now, and I'm wanting to get HIDs, but I don't want to blind people in their mirrors when I'm overtaking them (I do a lot of highway driving).

Those look good. The only thing i hate about the aftermarket projectors is adjusting them to make the light work good. I mean i did mine before but i just hate it personally. But they look amazing

I'm not talking about the scattered light on the left and right side of the road (the stuff that's usually way off in the ditch), I don't think that's too big of a problem. I mean the actual shape of the cutoff itself, how the light from each lens flares up to the right instead of being straight across.
I'd like it to look more like this:
and less like this:
If the cutoff doesn't throw light up so much on the right, then those lines on the outside lens itself shouldn't be too much of an issue, I don't think. I think they scatter the light horizontally, not so much vertically.

As Nighthawk243 said, they are a different cutoff on these lenses then the Gen 1 projectors. The ONLY way you could change that is by changing the shield inside the projector or putting different projectors in. Either way....it would be a lot of work.

Oh, I know that they're a different cutoff... and I was talking about modifying the shield. You know, that part where I said:
I figured it would be a lot of work, I just didn't know how much. You obviously have to take the back off, then probably dismount the projector (if that's even possible with these), open it up, then do something like this:

It was just a thought. I don't really want to screw them up trying, though.
Yeah, too bad it's good for Halogens, but not so much for HIDs.

I've been flashed once. But I know when I'm passing cars at night I'm blinding the people on the right. Considering their whole car lights up... lol. Oh well. I'm not taking my hids out. I can see a lot better with them installed, plus they look nice. Although, these projectors with just the halogens in them have really good light output too.

That is one reason, also I wanted to have my DRL's back on on the highway here. There are some stupid ass drivers out here. I can always put them back in. The ballasts are still in place and it would take me all of 5 minutes to hook them back in.

When you are facing a wall or any other object, the light from the headlight is "cutoff" at the top so that all of your light that is from your headlight is focused on the bottom half of your view and is not leaking anywhere. That is why they are called "projectors" in that they are projecting the light downwards to give you the most light possible where you need it the most.

Also the purpose of the cutoff is to help avoid blinding oncoming drivers. When properly aimed, the light cutoff will be below the sight line of oncoming drivers. That way you're still getting light out there, but its not directly hitting the other drivers in the face. With reflector housings, there is no sharp cutoff, so if you would put a HID system into the stock reflector, you'd be dazzling other drivers with it.

I have the same pair of 2nd gen lights but I'm getting 2 cut off lines. The passenger side light is visibly faint than the driver's side. Should I continue to adjust until they meet in the middle? Thank you in advance for the help.

Are you aiming them against a wall from about 20-25 feet away?

This should help out. Follow the rules for ECE headlight aiming.

Depending on what set of headlights you get, the halos will be either wired in on you will have to wire them in. On the 2nd gen lights (as I have on my car) the halos are wired into the plug...so no wiring is needed. On the 1st and 3rd gen you have to wire them in.
