Well I finally done this project today and I must say im pretty pleased with the results. But sadly it actually is going to cost me around 30-40 bucks...I broke the center piece when i was trying to pry it out which I don't know how I did it, Maybe the heat inside of the car along with me prying really hard is a possibility. Also if you have one laying around let me know

While painting my dash pieces, i'm working on the part that sits in front of the passenger (the long piece) and everytime it dries, its drying spotty, like its flat as aposed to the metallic look its supposed to turn out. Anybody have an idea of whats going on? I've sanded down between some coats, even went as far as to put on another coat of primer then go at it with the blue again... But its STILL doing it..

YOU ARE GOD!!! I've been waiting for someone to do these pieces in black so I could see how it looked. I love it in your car, however I've got an LS two-tone interior, so I'm still wavering on how it will look in my car.

Man your really making it harder than it really has to be me :P

Do this, Get a can of Grey Primer from a hardware store pick the krylon fusion and pick up a can of clear if you want that nice finish. And if you want pro results then do the following

2 coats of primer, paint with fusion, grab a 600 wet sandpaper...smooth out all of the rough spots then shoot one more layer of fusion then after drying(if its smooth then) do two or three coats of clear and be done.

If your scared your going to screw it up send it to me and I will paint it for you and ship it back....seriously.

by the wood grain to do it on. It's cheaper than the silver and you can just primer over it.

What so bad about it? Would you rather pay 28 bucks for the silver to just paint it or you can by the wood grain center piece for half the price. Once you primer it you won't notice it. And actually the wood grain was an option for the 2.2/2.4 cobalt's

http://www.gmpartsdirect.com - put your year, make and model then search...Then on the side go to

Instrument Panel
---Instrument panel components
----Center Bezel
------W/O Heated Seats

After that it gives you the option for nickel or the wood grain.

wow your dense huh? i was laughing at the fact that its an option. obviously if your gonna paint it it doesnt matter what color or pattern its gonna be. but i mean really wood grain as an option? some ****** is driving around with that and the wood grain decals around everything thinking hes the ****?

LMAO putting more clear won't help the paint stick.... think about it. Sanding helps the paint stick to the project (under the layer of paint). Clear helps protect the top layer of paint....

go with a blue but not too dark, i did it to my dash i have pictures, but its more like a dark electric blue. It changes colors depending on the light, in the morning its light an gets darker as the day goes on
