I turned part of my shed into a paintbooth and I must stress....take your time! I found if you don't do light coats, the thing tends to blister quickly. I have to sand down a bit once the paint cures, but no big deal, just could've been avoided if I had slowed down a bit. I think it's going to look sweet when it's done, I can't wait (part of the problem haha)

i'm working on the trim peices right now... just got em off and sanded them and light coat of primer. Waiting to dry to give a quick wet sand and then wipe down and paint orange.
I don't understand... I can paint aircraft for the navy and it looks great, but I can't seem to paint these 4 little plastic peices. Maybe I tried to do it to quick

1.) i wouldn't do the top dash because it'll glare like a **** and suck to drive with, plus it's pretty dangerous if you can't see where you're going.
2.) if you want to paint textured pieces, you either have to sand them perfectly smooth, then use buildable primer and sand that perfectly smooth, then continue with my how-to. OOORRR, you can fill the textured pieces with a layer of bondo, worked in really good, sand that smooth then prime it, sand it, and continue with the how to.
3.) you'll probably want to cover the top dash in microsuede, then paint the lower portion gloss of whatever color.

If that doestn't work you probably didn't get all the dust off it
When I painted mine I used our paint booth in my hanger bay, for our aircraft parts.
I used the dupli-color Mist orange, from auto zone and the dupli-color clear coat. The mist orange is a tad bit darker the the sunburst orange, but I wanted it to be a bit darker. The GM paint should work just fine if you want almost exact color match.
