How To Replace Your Reverse Light Switch MU3

There are a few of you that do not have any backup lights when putting your car in reverse. I hope this Helps! This is for the MU3 transmission and not the Getrag.

1. Go to your local dealership and buy GM part no. 24459626
2. You will need the following tools: 1/2 ratchet, long 1/2 extension, 22mm deep socket.
3. Shift your car into 4th gear. (please make sure the car is not running!!!)
4. Look down between your fuse box and your motor, you will see a plug with two wires on it. It will be right on top of the transmission. You might have to move some cables out of the way. However you will not have to remove or dissasemble anything!!!
5. Pull the plug off the old switch, then use the socket to remove it.
6. To install the new switch, do this backwards.

This only took me 10 minutes!

I'll try. It's kinda hard to take a pic of where it is located. Give me a day or two.

Well, let me tell you that wasnt the most fun thing to do in 30 degree weather. But, atleast I have reverse lights now. It's really not that hard to find if you know where to look. Like megaman said, look directly down between your engine and fuse box, it straight down. You will definitely need a long extension, i just used the big ass one i use to change the oil filter.

It is really hard to take a photo of the switch. I already tried to take a photo, but failed at it. You just don't have room for light. But like i said before, it is not hard to find. as long as you follow my instructions in the first post.
