Interior: How to upgrade the stock Pioneer sub to sound awesome and look stock. (With Pics)

The Rockford Fosgate p3 10" shallow mount sub, is rated to .5 cubic foot on their website for a sealed enclosure and the mounting depth is 3.5 inches. Before I go and sell my old stuff and buy the shallow mount sub. Does anyone see any problems with mounting this in the pioneer enclosure?

Instead of doing anything with the stock system ill leave it how it is, but I need to be able to have a signal from the stock headunit. Won't I need an adapter to get a signal to the amplifier? Does anyone know what the name of the adapter would be? Using rca audio cables to a mono amplifier.

Good stuff thanks guys I was thinking the same .5 at best but just wanted to see if anyone els had the numbers. Reason being is im trying to ether reverse install a new type R 10" but from my understanding it won't do me any good id be better off with a smaller sub that meets the .5 requirements and give a better sound. What do you guys think?

lol
I ordered a Pioneer shallow mount 10" sub, but just for ***** and giggles I decided to wire up the factory sub to my Pioneer 400 watt (180 watt rms) amp in a 4 ohm load like this:
I must say, it hits pretty hard and doesn't distort at all. I barely touched the gain.
I might even return the sub I ordered it sounds so good, lol.
This is the one I was going to replace the stock sub with:
TS-SW2501S2|S4 - 10" Shallow-Mount Subwoofer with 1200 Watts Max. Power | Pioneer Electronics USA

Sorry for old thread revival but there is some pretty good info here and i need to know if my amp will suit for this application
And here is the amp i have buyed a JBL GT5-A3001
With those specs:
GT Series Class AB Monoblock Car Amplifier
RMS Power Rating:
4 ohms: 175 watts x 1 chan.
2 ohms: 225 watts x 1 chan.
1 ohm: 300 watts x 1 chan.
So if i understand well i have to bridge my stock sub to 4ohms right?
