Will try this mod as soon I get home. Hope sun wont go down too fast tho

Edit : Done this in 1 hour cause of the pin of the silencer that i didnt figure out how to take it off first but it sounds good when u put the pedal all the way in.

Nice mod.

easy

Hmm. Not a bad mod if you can't/do not want to blow cash on CAI. If you loosen the fender well liner under the front passenger light and the 4 bolts in front of the tire you don't even have to lift the hood.

That'd be awesome dude. Thanks.

I'm looking for stuff to do this summer since I'm out of school starting at the end of April and running till mid September. SO much time.

I'de say nothing beats a real intake...

but as the saying say :

If you choose - cheap and reliable, it is not fast.
If you choose - cheap and fast, it is not reliable.

i wouldnt necessarily say that an injen is worth it over this.. $250+ for an injen, $6x.xx for this + a $50 k&n filter.. i couldnt justify buying an injen for that much more money. cuz lets face it.. an intake is an intake for the most part (as long as your not throwing a cel, and you know you have more flow; you should be happy)

how so is an injen much better? just because they have bogus #'s with gains that are far fetched? because ive heard some things about injen cai's that have been sub-par also, so its a horse a piece.

most people just like how its a more professional way to do it (which i cant deny), but im happy with what i got for what i paid! just because its custom doesnt mean its bad

I didnt said it was bad! I said it wont gave you the same power or if you like, wont do the same purpose as the Injen will do.

First, im pretty sure you didnt take out the big **** resonator... But thats not the question... A CAI is made to put cold air into your motor to help it breath and honestly you feel it in the summer. Your costum made intake doesnt do that at all...

Second, you cant have a SRI too with Injen, its swappable (CAI and SRI are included in the pack you order), and performance wise your costum intake you made will be less responsive then the Injen intake...

My thoughts are that you only want the deeper sound when you kick in and that alright.... but if you want to build yourself something strong and fast... you've gone the good way until you have money to buy a real intake...

But hey! That's only my opinion I'm not trying to say your thing is ****! It's way better then many other ppl idea.

actually i have it setup as cold air believe it or not.. that silencer is out and gutted.. now just a straight piece without the big mushroomed cavities. so in theory it sucks air from the same spot as your injen does and goes through a k&n filter then the rest is history.. ill have just as cold of air as you in the summer

idc who has what intake on these 2.2's an intake isnt going to make your car "fast" not trying to fight here either.. i think we just got a nice dispute between custom or professional to each their own i guess

I didnt saw your complete setup as in the picture it cut where the air box is...

But I think that if you put something bigger like a turbo or SC it would help you out to have a intake. But hey! its only a 2.2L and I admit I would of do your mod if i was less into "esthetic"

yea if i was going charged id definately do it "professionally" by getting the real deal, but that stuff is all rediculously priced so thats not happening.. exhaust will be done right though in my case (some day) as of now its rigged just to look 10000x better which is what i wanted.. tsudo is going on next.. so yea you get the idea.. /threadjack

Sub'd so I can find this thread later and find that other bolt holding this stupid thing on. Lol. Dropped a bolt today when taking out the headlights and it got lodged between this and the car. Had to take one of the bolts off and I thought that was the only one that held it on. Now i see there is another bolt, I shall have to try this again next week. lol.

Why is this considered a mod lol. It does nothing

But it's under the passenger headlight...there is a pin and a 10mm bolt holding it on in the inner frame. Tough to get to. To be honest it's not even worth it
