Took mine off for a day, noticed nothing other than it sounded louder and even cheaper. I hate loud little cars and it made mine sound rice. Put it back on. Ahh quiet.

What I did to my stock airbox was take off the silencer (I have long, lanky arms so reaching those bolts and screws wasn't hard, but **** did my shoulders get tired). I removed the K&N stock filter out of the air box, I cut/dremeled out the support for the tube (that plastic piece that connects the intake tube to the box for support) added a section of CAI rubber tubing, cinched that onto the box with a circular clamp, cinched the other end onto a 60 degree pipe going down into the fenderwell and then I took the cheap way out and cinched a Spectre Dry Flow cone to the bottom of that. Worked out great, but sounds more ricer than my old short ram, breathes a hell of a lot better too, now I get like 30-32 MPG average and its a technical cold air intake.

It's not obnoxiously loud. It sounds nice, almost intake-like. Not quite as loud though....

watch out with getting the k&N, tons of people on here have had trouble with oil from it hitting the MAF dealio and causing a check engine light. I got the Cold Air Intake from ebay for $60 and this is what it looks like

I just took my intake resonator/silencer out this weekend and there is ABSOLUTELY NO INCREASE in sound that it makes, or throttle for that matter. What could be wrong? The only thing I can think of is that I might need a new air filter (I have the stock airbox). The filter is kind of dirty. The filter has never been changed and the car has almost 20,000 miles. The car doesn't feel sluggish though.

you won't really notice anything until you go over half throttle and really get into it. cuz i have removed the lower silencer and thats what it does for me you notice it through shifts and when your given er. its silent when your just casually driving.

Get a high flow filter too. Its a nice deep tone in the exhuast. And you can hear the air certain times coming into the airbox

well for those of you who don't want to spend a ton on a CAI, here's the link to a site, you can get the one they sell on ebay for $60. At the site you can get it for like 44.98

Well i went out and took that piping out of there. Its kinda a pain but if you just use a bit of force it comes out, went for a ride and wow you notice the noise difference... its got kind of a deeo tone to it. Sounds pretty mean... i wanna hear it from another car to see what other people are hearing

I took mine out about two weeks ago and I love the increase in sound when getting on it hard from 2nd to 3rd hell even 4th you can tell a difference. I started taking it off thinking it was going to be a piece of cake then found out I could not get the damn headlight out until finally wiggling it out and kind scratched my bumper quick 3m scratch remover fix. Then the wheel well took a lil while but other than that pulled the huge plastic **** out with no problems. Put all back together and took test drive. I love it! sounds really good. Now I am getting the intake from AdvancedJDMParts.com

Anyone have this CAI and do you recommend it???

I HAD that intake. I recommend it for the price. It threw no CELs, and worked just fine. Only reason I don't have it anymore was because I traded it for projectors and then bought a used AEM. If you do buy the eBay intake, I suggest buying the AEM Dryflow filter for it.
