I did this last night and I think I definately might feel a little bit of a difference.......maybe.
But I should add that the silencer is held in by a 10mm bolt in the front and a plastic rivet-like retainer in the rear near the wheel house splash shield. These 2 things kinda held me up for a second since they weren't pointed out in the original how-to. Maybe they should be added somehow?

omg ridiculous tough......my 'balt was in a wreck, all is well now, but you know how alignment is never quite perfect if uve had a wreck.
well, i cant even slip my headlight out, without having to take out the grill, so im gonna get a jack and try to do it through the wheel weld,
but not now,
im gettin the K&N soon, it would probably be easier to do it all at once,
AND THEN PWN!

he makes it seem a lot easier than it is... its a royal pain in the ass. it took me 2 trys to get that thing out. i tried once and gave up. i ended up having to saw off the bolt/plug in the back of the silencer to get it out... it sucked! but its worth it if u have patience.

Me and my buddy took it off in like 30 min last night! It is so much easier if you jack the car up and take the wheel and splash guard off. Really easy and sounds really good!!

It basically is a CAI it just doesnt look it or have nice tubing, It still has the little hose thingy under the air box that exits the engine bay to get the cold air.
I have never done this but it seems like a lot more hastle for nothing.

Yeah, I just did mine yesterday. It was kind of a pain in the ass getting the silencer out though. Not as easy as the guy made it seem. I think that part took me the longest. I tried for about 5 min. then my friend comes and just lifts it out...I was pissed.LOL

Yeah...about that. I was helping my friend install a CAI and we took of the fender lining...now it flaps around when he goes fast.LOL We broke a couple of those plastic screws. Maybe it's because he had a focus.LOL
