Chris, when can I order HP Tuners for my 2006 LSJ? My injectors are maxed, and I can't put bigger ones in untill I can tune. Please say "now".

And also, will this add on to the intense stage 3 kit, or take the place of the maf-t or what I know about engines and operation, but this is way newer technology than I am used to (read as "old school")

Ok,
A friend and I are each going to purchase the HPTuners. We both have RED 2005 Ion Redlines. He has the GM reflash. Will he be able to offload that file, send it to me using his software, then send it to me and I will flash my computer with it wth my software. Will this work? If not...how will I make it work?
Thanks,
Dan

1. use 6 credits and choose the 2005 Redline year/model license when you read your vehicle.
2. get him to send you his file and use our file compare feature to compare the changes. Them simply copy/paste the tables over.
My advice is use those calibrations as a guide only, there is no way they will be delivering maximum performance. Every engine is different and in boosted applications it's even more critical. On LS1 V8's i've put exactly the same tunes in two identical cars and got two differnt results. I've owned a s/c'd LS1 for 2 years now and tuned a hell of lot of them and it's amazing how different tunes can turn out for what you think is an identical setup. My guess is the factory tunes are agressive down low and mid rpm to give that great seat of the pants feel, but then get conservative up top to prevent guys sending back 4 busted pistons and a torched head gasket
Once you guys get familiar with the various fuel and knock retard histograms (and the audible sound of knock) you will learn to find the optimum timing and fueling for your combo very quickly.
Hope that helps,
Chris...

I mean its a GM tune so of course i figure its on the safe side its just already got values for the increased redline and the injectors im running so i dont need the maf-t any more. I'd use it as a guide and I already have a wideband O2 installed in the car so I should have everything I need to tune it correct?
Thanks,
Dan

Chris welcome to our wonderful community.
and it's about time, lol
now I should be able to tune for my cams.
I have two questions.
1. For the Year/Model license does that mean if I get 2005/CobaltSS that I won't be able to tune a 2006, 0r 2007 ( I just need to clarify that one )
2. Do you know of any literature that we can purchase to help some of use less expierianced tuners, so we don't destroy are cars. ( tips and trips, do's and do not's)
something that would give someone a good base so they can start tuning with more confidense.
thanks and I can't wait to start

2. nothing much is available. The best source i know of is our help files and forum. There are generic efi training courses you can do and books available but they are very non-specific.
