i dont think they did, when the vortex header was advertised to add 31.2 whp, it said next to it with jbp exhaust and intake... it didnt mention downpipe. if they did use it they didnt advertise that.
so my cat buzzing under acceleration is normal for a high flow cat?

well its not zp, but it is a cheap one, its 180$ 3" stainless steel from a muffler shop, the cat is magnaflow. these guys were a little too cocky for my taste, i todl them they should follow the instruction book for the header, thats the only way it would fit, they said their pros and they dont need it, 3 hours later they call me to tell me this header was designed to be too big for the cobalt and theres no way it would fit, so they had to cut into the fire wall and make some other mods

WHOA!!!!! WTF??? proffesionals my ass!! That header fits with lots of clearance and no mods whatsoever!!! If they cut anything I would be absolutely going wild if I was you!! The redline has less room to the firewall than the cobalt and it has alot of clearance at the rear.
As for the high flow cat, no they do not buzz, especially not a real high flow cat, I have installed probably about 50 of them into custom exhausts and never have we had one buzz.
Your mileage going down is a huge concern, as when raptors comes on here he will tell you that he is finding his mileage has increased slightly and is going on a trip this weekend and will verify if it has or not. I would look to see if they screwed up the location of the primary O2 sensor, do you have a wideband and did they switch that sensor with the primary???? OR you probably are driving it a little more aggressively.
Raptors took pics last night from above and below to post for you guys.

I've got 4 pictures in my control panel, havent taken the time to figure out the whole posting those pics into threads. No leaks and looks great. I can feel a power increase but I dunno if it's worth 31 HP, I know I can feel the difference in torque. I'll let ya know on mileage this weekend.

Lol.. Did you give them the downpipe to install or did THEY order the downpipe for you...If they ordered it.. Make sure it IS a magnaflow.. They're not supposed to BUZZ at all.. I don't know why they would cut in your firewall.. I would be ripping some asses, bro.

the corporate shops tend to think they know it all and are some of the cockiest ******* i've ever seen.
I made that mistake with my old car and will not make it again.

ye im going to on monday, but i need to know all i can so i know what to tell them, they made the downpipe, the cat is magnaflow, so whats the downside to cutting into the firewall, and i think they said theyh wrapped the header...
#470
personally i'd threaten to sue them for making alterations to your car that you did not give consent to.
unless you already signed a paper saying that everything was handy and dandy.

well, the downside is first, it doesnt need to be done!! Second it doesnt need to be done!!! As for the wrap, thats fine if thats what they wanted to do but it doesnt need to be done!! Why dont you take some pics of your install and post everything so that we can see this install and pics of the downpipe they built.
Why dont you just look under you hood???? if they wrapped it you would you see it. How can you not know this??

he never said that..
i know i took my old car to monroe to get a muffler estimate, i look out in the shop and next thing i know i see sparks flying...i look at the guy in the office and he has the deer in the headlights shitface on and i'm just like if this is over 75 you're going to be sorry...
at that place you consented to the work done after you paid for it and signed the sheet, not prior, any alterations should and must be taken up with the customer before being put into actual action..
