Any NE Cobalts?
Haven't seen any SS's driving around here yet, Omaha's way too much of a mustang/camaro town. Probably going to have to get with the KC/IA/MO guys and gals to do anything I'm guessing.

I live in Norfolk, I am in Omaha all of the time too.
I used to drive my SS/SC but it seems that I have a large sign in my window that reads:
" Will every ricer, STi, SRT-4 and Evo please try to race me! "

No doubt. First day I had the car (posted on NESS about this because the guy is from there), and this is all I've gotten since I got my car:
This topic is more directed to whatever fucktard drives a maroonish-red boosted acura integra which is putting down "300 whp and 275 wtq".
Short story:
1) You're a douchebag, if you talk ****, back it up.
2) Turn your hat around you cumstain, you're not fred durst.
3) You need to check out that oil leak. Seriously. It's bad. Get that looked at.
Long story:
People wonder why "ricers" have such a bad rep (this applies for anywhere), and this guy is a perfect example why. Driving from Gregg Young where I picked up a Cobalt SS/SC, I saw this guy while I was turning onto Pacific on 168th. He follows me for a while, driving like a total dick in traffic to catch up to me (swerving through cars, cutting people off), in order to perform a textbook ricer flyby while I'm crusing in 5th gear. Assuming he'd want to race, and being up for one in a car I'd had for all of 45 minutes, I followed him. Finally got up next to him at like 114th and Pacific (by I-80), and asked him if he wanted to go race or just **** off in traffic all day.
He told me that apparently that immaculate ricer flyby was in fact a race and I had lost. Unbeknownst to me, a person can in fact beat you in a race in which you're not taking part. Wish I'd known those rules before I started. After proceeding to talk **** about my car, I asked if he wanted to race. He informed me that my car only puts out 3 lbs of boost, and his car putting out 15lbs of boost and producing "300 whp and 275wtq" would school me. I said I was still up for a race, and he kept backing down. Finally I told him I'd follow him and we'd line up and race. He proceeded to drive to the 84th street on-ramp to I-80, where he took off and started swerving through traffic going 100+ at 3:00 in the afternoon. This, to my knowledge, also doesn't count as a race.
I'm not saying I would have beat him. If his car actually made what he said it does, I shouldn't. Considering I'm driving a brand new car, and had been in it for all of 45 minutes, again, he should hands down destroy me. But fuckwads like this waste of sperm are the reason cops are such dicks to people who race.
If you don't have the sack to man up and race someone driving an obviously stock car that you think is a piece of ****, you should probably sell your oil-leaking pos and buy a tricycle and peddle it around elmwood park and get raped by old men. That seems to be more your speed. If you actually read this and want to race sometime, please, by all means, PM me and I'll set something up, either on the street or on a track. Hell, your boyfriend can even bring his car. I'm up for a friendly race anyday. Just don't be a fuckwad about it.

Some of the guys in the Omaha/Lincoln area are pretty cool. But most of the people I incounter are similar to your story.
I have learned this:
1) You could say you have 300HP and they will always have 301 or more.
2) They always know someone with a 500HP STi, Supra or LS1
3) If they loose they always have an excuse Tires, clutch, gasket or boost issues
Hell I even had the same problems when I drove either of my Camaro SS's too.

I just purchased my cobalt, it's only an LT Coupe, but I am in omaha. Most of the local forums, Omaharacing.com, NESS pretty much hate 4 bangers that aren't boosted or are domestic models. I don't race my car, so i don't really care a whole lot about the speed aspect, but i would like to make mine look nice.

It was the same way the the Tiburon GTs, I was going to get one of those instead... and in like two weeks, they were everywhere. I haven't seen too many Black LT Coupes so i can't complain.
I have a question for you guys, whats the best way to get my sunroof button to quit rattling? I installed my new subs (God the box had to be tiny) and thats the only thing that rattles. Any suggestions?

I dunno what your schedules are like, but Monday nights are about the only free time I have during the week. Some of my old mustang buddies have a get-together type thing Monday nights at Don and Millies on 144th and Harrison. Usually just a few people, but I'll see if anything's going on in two weeks (I'll be in vegas next week) and maybe we could meet up out there. Or we could always do the Rush St. car show on wednesday nights. Anyone game?
I'm just throwing out ideas, this'll be my last time on until next Friday, so if you guys hash something out, I'll show up.

I just purchsed my SS (non sc) July 5th and am loving it. Just wanted to give a shout out to fellow Omaha people on this website. If people are doing performance mods, please post them i'd be interested in what's all being done.

I bought my 06 SS/SC last October from Beardmore Chevy... I live in the Bellevue area and work out at Offutt AFB. I've only seen two other SS or SCs besides mine, a yellow 05 and one almost exactly like mine (my neighbor a few doors down, go figure). Just starting posting on this site a couple days ago though
