AUTO X at AUTOBAHN 10/7
here is the event you are all waiting for....A auto-X (pretty sure it's a high speed one) at the famed AUTOBAHN COUNTRY CLUB in Joliet, IL south course (2.1 miles). I was told if enough balts show up we could have our own class. A little pricey at $125 for the day, but where else can you get your balt on a exclusive road course.
I will go if other balts decide to show.
here is the link:

start a list of peeps going

Come on out ya wussies! We've been hitting the track in the Redlines... I've been racing for going on two seasons now, and a few guys started coming with me. There's a group of about 10 of us that should be out there this week.
I can answer anything you need to know about it, gimme a shot here, or on the Redline forums...

This is the last one for the year, so you can always plan for next year.
There are no cones. This is high speed. I spend all day in 3rd gear, above 4500 rpms. Turns come at 65-70 mph and I'm hitting 110+ on the back straight. Autobahn is a GREAT track and very smooth and wide.
As far as runs go. We start practice around 8 am. Depending on the cars that are there, you get 3-5 practice session of 3-4 laps each. Practices are run according to best lap times, and you're on the track at the same time as other cars of your level, or with the novice group. After lunch, we start the timed runs. There's basically one car on a segment of the track at the same time, so it's like being out there all alone. We run as many timed laps as we can fit in by 5-6pm. Usually 4-6.
You don't work the track, you just race. If you don't want to race this one, you're MORE than welcome to come out and watch for a few hours. Autobahn is a great track for that type of stuff.

Yes it is a great track and a great time for those who have not been....that's why I started the thread.
that's great that there is no working involved.... seems like a good time for the $$$$
roughly comes out to $10 per lap!
