I am starting to set up a Midwest Cobalt, Ion, G5, HHR, Cavy, ect meet. i am trying to get people from far to come and high numbers for turn out! This will be an OVERNIGHT stay so we will be set up with a hotel for group rates! here are the plans in the works!

City: Itasca IL
Hotel: Holiday Inn Itasca on 860 W. Irving Park Rd.
When: Weekend of May 30th
Who: all Ecotec owners and fans, plus your friends! more the better
Info: I plan to reserve a park so we can park all of our cars there on Sat. the 31st and have a meet/car show all day. maybe cook out. i plan to try and get some companies to com out to our car show. then we can go on a MAPPED out cruize ending at Woodfield mall to see all the cars that gather at the streets of woodfield. after that we go back to the hotel and party it up! when we wkae up the next day you are free to go, or you will be more the welcome to stick around for breakfast and i am sure alot of us will go to woodfield mall to shop!

im down as usual, we need info on parks in the Chi town area. We should just do it in Racine, reserve that pavilion and cook out, id just be for 1 day, but thats okay, if we get a decent turn out.

 

yean i think we should do that again but i want to plan a bigger meet and stay in a hotel... maybe have the meet on a saturday at a big park in the chicago land area. then after the meet, go on a cruze then go back to the hotel.

 

yea my bro lives in chi town so i would be down to go up there and see him too

I thought we would stay in the outskirts..... but as for the cruze i dont know yet.

well i am sure we can get a bunch from your area.... lets get some ideas, dates and plans going then you can start a STL thread to get people from there interested and then have a group of you coming from down there.



What dates to people like? i was thinking early summer.

 

If it's late May or after, I'll be around. And with the Cobalt this time.

I *will* be moving back to Chicago after I graduate.....

So yah, late May or after would be cool with me.

 

Mine will be out of the shop in May, so late may or june would be cool with me. I'm down for sure.

 

I'd go! I'd love to meet new people...my schedule for work is generally out a month or two in advance though, so that makes it tricky.

Another spring CED meet is already in the works...why not just do it then.

 

cuz more then one meet a year is ok with me..... and the CED meet will be cool too... just wanna do a different kinda meet.

 

I think getting people to drive many hours like we have too more than once a year isn't gonna happen. We have a hard enough time getting together locally so I doubt you'll see many MN members but Im not trying to speak for the other states. If I had the money and free time Id be down but I just have a lot of other stuff going on...see what happens once you get married

As temps get warmer a lot of weekends fill up with family events, camping, track events, auto-x, local car meets, car cruses and etc so you need to keep that in mind as well...all of these effect a larger turn out.

 

yeah i dont expect ever one in the surrounding states with a cobalt to show up. but we will see what i can do.... who knows.

 

Oh cmon just offer them all red_line_cobalt t-shirts and they will all come on down.

(hey about your exhaust.... i got about $50 in the muff..... and the rest is piping and my time.... so $125-$150 is the cheapest i can go...... and the muff is custom made. i know a guy who just started making mufflers... and he is making me a batch with my own label on it!)

haha the WI crew alone could be up to 30 balts.. .then the Chicago crew is about the same... plus any STL, MN, and IN guys! could be huge!

ad it was a great meet and i will go back.... how ever it is possible to have more then one big meet a year................

Hey is this going to be strictly cobalts cause one of my friends is getting a 240sx and ima help modify the car and got more ppl that don't have cobalts but are tuners just a thought so we can have more ppl and make them feel out of place the way I feel when I go to the races lol
