yea... i was freaking out... i was heading back to school with a brand new 32'' lcd in my trunk.. i didnt want him to hit me for that reason... little did i know all of this would come of my swerving... the guy caused another lady to swerve and she didnt hit any other cars but instead went straight into the median wall... her car is totaled on the front end garanteed... my airbags didnt go off at all.... which kinda scares me..
The other thing that scares me is that i just bought the car for 16 after t/t/l in november.. im worried about how the insurance will handle this.. Does anyone know how it works? i dont wanna end up paying for this when i dont ahve it you know.. if i can totally get this paid off.. i will spend the extra and get a t/c.. if i cant, i will be getting another s/c or possibly even worse... all depending on what they will do for me

Holy ****!!!! Man, im sorry abut your ride, but the important thing is that you made it out ok!! I should scan some pics of my 95 Impala that got hit head on (car was parked) by some drunk chick that was driving an 03 vette. Oh, she slammed into the Impala at 100mph. Cant say there was much left of the vette, but my ride was literally folded multiple ways!

If it's a total loss, the insurance company will pay the book value (typically NADA) and not a penny more. They will pay off the loan first and if there is anything left over, they will give you a check for the difference. They don't give a hoot for any mods you've done. I don't know what options you have or mileage, but retail book value is probably right about $16k for a 2007 SS/SC.

Same. The TV would have been covered by insurance. At least had he hit you, he wouldn't have gotten away.

o and it happened going over the bridge like part of i55 and cicero.. i55 north just as the on ramp from cicero is hitting i55. you can see the yellow paint of the right side guard railings towards the end

that is borderline, you won't be in the red much(if any)... but you may end up a little... future advice: get gap on anything you finance, it will end up costing you about $3 a month, well worth it... so you don't EVER have to worry about this...

take me, I bought a '08 SS, financed, I owe about $26,000 on it(by the time all the interest is added in to it, maybe even closer to $27,000), if I totaled it tomorrow, they MIGHT would give me $19-20,000 for it.... without gap, i'd still be in the hole $6000-7000, its just not worth the risk...

(kbb.com) thats it.. if you have gap that'll pay off the rest.... however.... if you do have full tort on ur car and they find the guy and you need the money to pay off the rest of the car.... sue, just for the rest of the amount owed on the car. i know it sounds bad on my part but if i just got my car and someone did that i'd be pissed.

Air bags did not go off, because you hit at a angle which absorbed a lot and not a full front impact. Same thing happened in my truck and I asked why they didn't go off. Was told that reason.

Glad you are okay. Keep a eye on the Scion forums for this. Find a thread...DO NOT POST in there. Bookmark & print it then give it to your insurance company and local police. Do not post in it again...because then it may get deleted.

From the sounds of it all lanes could of been full not allowing the guy to go around. Should've held your ground and let him hit you, but its a natural reaction to swerve when you think something is about to happen.

Instead of trying to analyze his fault...put yourself in his shoes. If you had enough time to react you would've swerved to. Being being rear ended at that g force would've caused bodily harm.

i saw you mentioned you airbags didnt go off either me and my sis have the same car a cobalt she got hit really hard in the front and no air bags went off she sued and she won and same thing haooend to me i got hit real hard in the front and o air bags went off i guess its a defect . glad your ok
