Dunno who you are, but everyone was telling me how unimpressed you are with my car? I'm not impressed with it either. If you want to run, i would be down. I'll be out tomorrow night, if you see this PM me and we'll set something up.

Yeah...345/335 cam only, i believe that's about 100hp more than your car put down on the same dyno..am i wrong? If those numbers are right i would have the slowest cammed LS1 in the country. Yes my 1/4 mile times sucked, that was with a 3.1 second 60ft...

Not starting ****, i just want to straighten things out.

Why did you get such a non agressive cam? Man, if I had an ls1 motor, i'd get ported heads, crazy aggressive cams to make the car barely idle, and sts rear mount turbo.....but then it would probably blow up lol and what I described is probably over 10 g's in mods lol...but I want an ls1 so badly

But yeah, your car should be high 12's material if not mid-low 12's

Yellow car, he goes to ranken...we dyno'ed his car. Our Dyno is WAY off. his car put down around 250ish, it would probably be around 300 on a dynojet. With my cam, there is no reason my car shouldn't put down 400rwhp+... Only problem is, but rear end is shot (1 wheel peel), and it doesn't hook in first or second...
Again, not starting ****, but i don't even know this guy and i had people continuously telling my how he was talking **** on my car... Probably heard it from 15 people.

Your car stock should be about a VERY low 13 if not a high 12. That cam will get you some decent numbers for sure. My buddies 00 Z28 ran a 13.3 bone stock so I know all about them F-bodies. Even if he's on here, he prolly won't admit to his **** talkin man.

Get some 373's in there and you'll be golden man.

This car is driven 700 miles a week and get 18-21mpg on my daily driving. Cam is aggressive enough. Motor is forged...stock compressions, stock displacement, stock heads, stock intake, stock fuel system. I blew it up racing a Mach 1 about 4 months ago. Just forged pistons and rods in a stock motor with a cam basically. Nothing special

my 3.42's are killing me...4.10's are what will be going in. i do 55mph in first. 85 in second, 113 in 3rd. and like 147 in 4th.
It is nice cruising at 80 mph @ 1800rpm though.

I forgot the rears in the SS's are different then the Z's. My mistake, my boy has 273's I believe in his 00 Z28. 410's huh? You have traction issues now and your going to concentrate on the hole shot even more? lol...She gonna be sick when you get her runnin right.

I'm guessing this one...Ranken (where we both go to school), and it's yellow with black wheels.

You thinkin about doing the LS6 intake manifold as well? You on LS1tech?? I come on there once in awhile. I was on there looking for an LS1 for my Blazer build, but have since decided to go with a slightly larger motor.

12bolt rear end, or a ford 9" and tires with 4.11's will get me where i want...should get me a few mph in the 1/4 once i get some tires, and the suspension working...

It is an ls6 intake, that comes stock on 01, 02's. I picked it up for cheap, sanded it, and had it Base/cleared. Considering thats a stock part on a car a year newer, i don't even call it a mod. Plus i couldn't even tell a difference when i put it on lol

Mods
LS6 Intake
SLP Lid
SLP Pulley
TSP Cam
MAC Mid length headers w/or y pipe
STOCK Catback
home ported throttle body
K&N Filter lol
Tune, needs another

Those are my power making mods, i do however have

Ram powergrip HD clutch
Pro 5.0 shifter (that allows easy powershifting lol)
Dual valve springs
Ported oil pump
chromoly pushrods
LS2 timing chaing
LS7 lifters
Forged pistons
Forged h-beam rods
ARP rod botls
ARP head bolts
pistons rings gapped .020"/.024" (set-up for nitrous)

As far as power mods, i really dont have many...

You'll be in the 11's in no time man. The LS series motors have sooo much potential it's sick. I just hope the new Camaro can hold the name true ya know?

Nice setup man. As far as power mods goes, you don't really need many to get her moving.

My buddies 00 just got the motor rebuilt after spinning a bearing. He has the LS6 or LS7 cam(Not too sure about the cams) with dual yellow springs, 5 angle valve job, SLP longtubes and dual straight pipes all the way out. SLP Lid, ported throttle body, and not to sure what else. He still needs a tune, gears and tires for sure. lol.. He ran a 13.3 bone stock though

That is one of many reasons why I plan to build my 93 4dr S10 Blazer. RWD, huge motor, NASTY sounding exhaust, and still somewhat of a sleeper. Don't get it twisted though, I still love and have plans for my Cobalt, but she my daily driver.

i trap 116-117 right now...Once i get my car's rear end/suspension/tires worked out it should be running pretty good. 3 second 60ft FTW.

I know about spun bearings...she finally let go after 90k+ miles of powershifting and beating on a daily basis lol

60 days, several parts delays/machine shop delays and a couple grand later its back on the road.

Yeah, that's the way things go when you have modding troubles such as we do.

His car was down for like 3 months or so.

i understand where you're coming form cam wise... but really man.. thats something you go big or go home.. cams aren't cheap so you might as well go for something thats gonna give you very good performance and make it so you can still drive it... it seems you went for stock drivablility and a very small performance gain. drop some more agressive cams in there and you'll be much better off... ls1's are fast ... however don't think that a modded balt is a slouch... it might surprise you with the modest mod you've done...

upon reading the posts that have been made i mostly retract my comments ...

however how the hell did you blow your engine?

It happens...My boys motor blew basically the same way, but we think the previous owner may have been spraying.

Man, that is really not a small cam... 233/239 duration at .050" LIFT = .598/.605" on a 113 LSA... You can't get much bigger than that... Car idles at 950 RPM from stock 500, and revs to 7000.

I spun a bearing, rod bolts are weak, i stretched them over time...high RPM usage, several thousand rev limiter hits, etc. These motors like to do that aroun 100k miles when they are driven like i do.

BTW i bought the cam used with 4k miles on it for $225. My valve springs were more expensive LOL. This cam now has over 30k on it, this is my 2nd one. First one was a small one...

Sheeit, even with a small cam, the performance gains are pretty decent. I want a decent lope when I do the build on my Blazer. Nothing extremely crazy, but a nice lil lope would be sweet
