Someone Help Me Please!!!

So today i was planning on finishing the brkae bleeding. I jacked the car up on stands, took off the wheels, and took out the rear pads. I rented the tool to turn the rear pistons. So i started on the rear drivers. I turned the piston and then the ******* piston poped out a little so much that i was unable to get the pads back in to fit over the rotor. I then took off the caliper and used the c clamp i bought from O reilys. I was having trouble before compressing the pistons but i got it to work last time by putting a peice of wood on the top of the caliper to gain some support. This time i kept turning and i ******* snapped the metal bar that turns the clamp. Im so pissed these ******* pistons wont go in, maybe i just need to go to sears and by the C clamp. Is anyone available to help me get them back together and bleed? I really need someone experienced to help. I will make it worh your while (not in a sexual way lol).

Those rear pistons are a bitch. I used 3/8" rachet with a tool from Harbor Freight to push with all my force and turn at the same time. I was dead by the time I got both sides screwed in.

^^Didn't have any problems with mine. They just pushed back in. Maybe your brake fluid reservoir is full? If you fill it when you have worn pads, there isn't always enough room for the brake fluid when you push the pistons back in.

I know the SS/SC rears need to be Screwed back into the caliper, just did mine. You cant clamp them back in like the fronts.

Try cranking it down with the bleeder screw open. You might be pressurizing the system when you are screwing in the piston. Also, there is absolutely NO need for a C clamp, whatsofrickinever. The pistons only screw in, there is no pushing. You can push with all the weight in the world, and its not gonna give.

How I did mine was take a pair of needle nose pliers, and put the nose in the grooves and started turning. It took a while, and it was not comfortable, but it did the job. But, try opening the bleeder valve, and see if that helps you any.

Also... didn't you bleed the brakes already? If so, why? Did you do the fronts and need to bleed them? So, if you bled them already, you probably increased the pressure in the system so you can't force the piston back in.

I would offer to come help, but I am almost 3 hours away, lol. I will be up there Friday, and MIGHT be able to work something out if its not fixed by then, but I doubt it, since I will be driving my truck home, and its not exactly legal, haha.

Lemme know if I can help any more. I think if you open the bleeder valve up then you will be good.

I want to see him obliterate his previous numbers. But, that wouldn't be too hard. What is he going to go with on the infiniboost? 24psi?

Honestly, I think if Vince will go decently aggressive with it, he will see about 310-320.

yeah i think a 24lbs selectable tune with the unlocked fueling will surpase the previous numbers. post up the dyno sheets when its done.

I already bled the brakes all around previosly and then when i was about to back out of the garage the brake pedal hit the floor. I got the pistons in before using the c clamp and a piece of 2x4, but yesterday i snapped the metal handle trying to push the piston in. And i wont be able to work on it until friday unless i dont go to my thursday class. And i dont mind picking someone up thats doesn't live too far and who has some tools to help with.

And sorry Dom im trying to get this **** done with asap, just not having good luck with the brakes.

Ugh. You aren't listening to us. The rear caliper pistons DO NOT push back in. If they did the first time, you did something wrong, or something isn't right. I think the source of your frustrations is your hardheadedness, and that if you would listen to what we are saying, rather than repeating everything you already said, that we already know... you might actually get somewhere.

Anyway, good luck.

ok so if i dont push it back in how else am i supposed to get the pads to fit into the caliper? with the way the piston is right now, the pads are far enough to fit over the rotor.
