I had put some all seasons on the car last year and it didn't work out to well. We're thinking about just buying some rims and Blizzaks, or maybe someone is selling their winter set nearby.....

I have a winter car, lol. Been trying to get that all sorted out between today and yesterday. I am gonna kill the insurance on the balt today, prolly
But, the winter car is good to go. Has new plugs, which should help ALOT... the old ones were gapped to .060, as opposed to the prescribed .035, lol. And it has new rear brakes. I will pull the muffler thats rusted off so it will quit clunking, and then look into how much new shocks and struts will cost me. Then, prolly gonna do a trans flush and fluid change. And then it will be all good.
Nothing beats an SR20 powered Sentra, lol. Too bad its not turbo'd.

speaking of snow, i just learned from tirerack that the OE tires are not applicable for snow ratings anyone try using them over the winter? Im thinking about getting an all season high performance tire on black alloys and putting the OE's back on when i sell the car in 1.5 years when my certified used powertrain warranty is up. im assuming the black painted alloys would hold up to the salt... hmmmm

The OE tires are "summer" tires, not M+S rated- mud and snow. I'm in the same situation where my SS/TC is my daily driver and I need to get some tires for the winter. I cannot afford another set of rims, but will simply get new tires and swap them out....I work at a dealership. Trying to decide on all-seasons or winter dedicated tires like Blizzaks. I've been on TireRack's site reading reviews of all-seaons- may go w/ Goodyear Eagle GTs. Anyone have any all-seasons and first-hand experience w/ snow?
here are the "all season" wheels im thinking about, they'd be on black 06 ss s/c

Wouldnt a POS car be cheaper than wheels and tires?
The 1997 Nisan 4x4 I rock in Winter was 300-500 bucks, I don't remember anymore. My first winter beater up here in 03 was a Ford Festiva I paid $75 for hehe.
I just cant drive any car I care about in salt. Especially since my time in Iowa might be short. My wife and I really want to hit the road (we moved up here in 03).

Hey, everyones welcome to come on along. Not sure exactly where we'll end up yet, but likely west coast. We were born & raised in FL, so I'm kinda over that place. So just make sure you saved your stock DP's for inspection and then toss them back in the box after
Honestly... I don't know how people do it up here. Come about some point in January I want to put a gun in my mouth up here. I don't HATE winter, I just hate that it cramps all the activities I like to do. Everything from cars, RC planes ... you name it I can't do it.
You thinking about heading back to TX Bud?

I see that, I don't know how the heck I missed that!?!? Guess I'll have to stop there tomorrow. Of course I don't want a blue one but at least I can check it out. I always hate wasting sales guys time though.
