Where do you guys get your cars worked on around here? Got an intercooler and clutch ready for install...bumpers and stock ic are off right now. Im not tackling the clutch with a driveway and online how to though lol
All the mechanics my parents suggest are old people my mom grew up with and they aren't very inclined on this platform. $400 to find a stripped ground wire on the MAF sensor and more recently $450 to replace CPS sensor and harness. Can't even imagine what 8 hours of straight clutch labor would cost....I'm fairly mechanically inclined and have basically taught myself everything starting on fourwheelers when I was a youngster. But in all reality I still don't know anything and need a better mechanic
Oh and shout out to the black debadged TC(i think i wasnt paying much attention) in belleville I saw by the fairgrounds

Since you're in Freeburg, I know a guy that owns a shop in Belleville. He used to own a car dealership as well. They charge 65/hr last time I checked. I'm gonna be taking my S10 there sometime next month.

I know the owner(Mike Reiff).
They will take care of you, trust me. I've had him do work for me before. Even though he's the owner, he likes jumping in and doing the work too. They have an STL location as well.

Thanks I'll throw him a call tomorrow. A guy I know in belleville said he would for $40 an hour but he would charge a minimum of 8 hrs labor for a clutch.
Yea they really screwed me the first time with the MAF, they said it was all labor trying to find the wire. Recently wasn't QUITE as bad considering the $450 included the sensor+harness, they screwed me when they took it to emissions to get passed since they counted that as labor(and didnt ask me first). Also old people are intrigued by this car and I find they like to drive it....which is labor costs AND gas

Well I'd rather you take it to a shop than a guy you know in belleville lol. I think they still screwed you because if you took it to GM goodwrench and they found what it was, you could have just paid $80 for them to have diagnosed it and fixed it yourself. I dont have emissions in Mascoutah :-P. Well they should have asked first, that's not really legal. Like I said call his shop up, whatever the price they give you, it'll be worth it. I plan on going to him for a few things here soon. Last I checked though they couldnt do super low profile tires. Or weld stainless ;(.

haha, nah the black SC is me... Wish i had TC. I think it takes 8 hours to do our clutch anyways tho... But let me know if you find anything. I'll be doing clutch soon also. I was quoted 600 somn i forget exactly what but that was the people right off the base by the mascoutah gate... Think its called mission accomplished or something?
