Look what is happening after my clutch install.
I don't think fluid should be leaking from the clutch housing.

So, my clutch will be fuucked up if oil gets on it? I called the mechanic two days in a row and left messages, no response yet.

Do you think it could be a bad seal of some sort besides the slave cyl., I'm not familiar with the insides of a tranny.

Well it looks like break fluid so I would say that it is the throw out bearing not getting tightened down. The tranny fluid itself is kinda redish color so I don't think it's that.

Don't you mean motor oil? I had just changed the motor oil, so the gold color leads me to believe Mobil1.

So are you saying it is just leaking oil? I thought you said it is coming from the bell housing. Anyway I say that we all bring different food to the dyno day this year so no one goes hungry.

It is coming from the housing, I don't know how brake fluid would be dripping from inside bell housing, unless brake fluid is used to operate the clutch. I'm not too familiar with how the tranny operates. I think oil is leaking into the housing somehow and dripping out through the gasket on the housing. I'm not sure I should drive it, might get fluid on the clutch plate.
And yes, food at dyno day would be a good idea.
Edit: After looking at the car I'm assumming the brakes and the clutch share the same master cyl. So I think I understand where your coming from. I'm not a mechanic, just have basic skills. I know I'm lame when it comes to working on transmissions and engine internals. Maybe I should of got a manual and did it myself so I could learn a little about it.

Everything I'm seeing just says its a bad seal on the slave cylinder. Nobody was home when I slid over to john's garage. I hate recommending a mechanic and then you having trouble afterwords. Especially since I have 2k bucks wrapped up in a motor over there. :/

Not your fault and it's no biggie if he fixes it sometime soon. I just want it running. I hate that it's sitting in the garage leaking, it will just be eating at me till I get the ball rolling on getting it fixed. He seems like a nice guy, can't forsee any problems. I hope. If he doesn't fix it, I would be nervous about your car.

Yes the brake fluid is also used for the clutch. There is a little access panel on the front of the tranny you may be able to pop it off and look down in there.

Would that be possible without a lift? Can I fix the problem from this panel?
Edit: I probably need to take the tranny off to clean out the housing.

Well i will try and find a pic of where the panel is. You can at least look in there and see if it's wet. Going to look through my pics and try and find you one

Here you can see it. Its not very big but it will allow you to get in there and take a look. It will be kind of tough but can be done without removing anything. It is the black piece to the right of the oil filter cap.

Yes, getting fluid on the clutch/flywheel will ruin it. That definitely looks too clear to be engine oil, plus the only thing that would leak engine oil inside the bell housing is the rear main seal.

Engine oil will be much thicker and more viscous than hydraulic fluid.

Well, I just looked inside the cover (which came off easily with just a squeeze), it looked completely dry inside. There was no fluid on the slave cyl. or at the bottom of that side of the housing. Nothing looked like it was leaking from the nut holding the fluid line to the cyl. I could see pretty good with a flexible snake light.

Remember, I just changed the oil. It looks pretty clear with a goldish color to it. I haven't even driven the car since the oil change.

Is it possible to **** up the rear main seal removing the tranny. Or could it only be leaking hydraulic fluid when depressing the clutch?
Edit: Just had my wife pump the clutch as I was watching inside the housing, I didn't see anything leaking.

I was just thinking. Was the inside of the bell housing black and dirty? Because if it is then that fluid would look dirtier than it did. It's kindof hard to **** up the real seal. Did they remove the flywheel when doing the clutch. That is the only way to even get to the seal.

Inside of the housing is dirty, I had black **** sticking to the end of the magnet on my light. No, the flywheel looked as if it were brand new still, so he didn't mess with it. Maybe I should pull the fuse box out to take a better look.
