whats going on in bowling green? my car is running like poo right now. it was missing out bad yesterday and then it barely wanted to stay running when i first started it this morning and my clutch is slipping still and consistently getting worse. im probably going to park it for the winter. im over it.

lmao, winter because of it being cold. unless you blew a tmap or map sensor like sam always does. higher boost means breaking stuff lol.
oh yeah you need to change your plugs if you havent also..
bowling green is the dragstrip and a cobalt meet

new here from shelbyville ky
Hi I am new to the cobalt scene. Just purchased a 2005 ss cobalt, and have a few questions for you veterans on here. I have had the car for 3 days and the cel light came on. Had the codes scanned and the are p0603 probable cause failed ecm and the common p0171. Just looking for some advice the dealership wants 93.00 dollars to run a diagnosis check on it. Just looking for some suggestions. I have read several pages on here and know what seems to cause the codes. I just do not want to get nickle and dime to death. I reset the the mpg and driven the car only in town for about 10 miles the avg is 13.2 but the average speed is around 30 mph. I also have the knocking sound when i hit bumps or shake the wheel back and forth. One more thing, when the car is cold and I start it and put it in neutral the clucth makes a noise until i push in the pedal, after a few mins it goes away. What rpm range should the car be at full boost? Sorry for the long post and any help would be greatly appreciated. Sometime in the future Id like to meet up with some of you fellow cobalt owners at one of the meets. Thanks for your time.

To start tracking down the codes, what has been done to the car that you are aware of? Was it a local car when you bought it? there have been a few that have be on lots for a while.
if it is stock, full boost is about 12.5 - 13 lbs depending on the ambient temp. around 4500-5000. Colder air = more dense charge = full boost at a lower rpm. cruising around town, on a stock tune you should see around 18-21mpg depending on your driving style.
before paying a dealer to run a diagnostic on it, I suggest to either have autozone or someone local with HP tuners to pull the dtc's and maybe complete a scan while the car is running to see if there is anything out of the ordinary.
I just checked my hp tuner dtc list and the p0603 is "control module long term memory reset"
P0171 is "fuel trim system lean bank 1".
Definately hook up with a local HP tuner person on here and reset the fuel trims... it is a possibility that the car has sat for a long time.
