my car is still in storage, shibito were you on stock suspension? Is there a significant benefit with 255/35's versus 225/40's? Will I notice it in my day to day travels and at stoplights on woodward or not really? Also, what tires did you run? I'm thinking Kuhmo Exsta XS' (extreme summer performance tire)

I'm just looking for better traction and reasonable tread wear so a 180-200 tread rating is fine with me... thoughts?

Any thing else I should consider? I'm far from a tire expert, thank you for ALL of your help.

My bro is going to the DT that we have ordered all tread/wheels from but I'll inquire in town if we don't get the deal we're expecting. Contact him when you have some freetime

I had 255/35/18 Continental Maxcontacts. NO spinning in 2nd gear at all running 24.5psi making around 370tq. Much better traction out of the hole as well. On the stock 225's on a cool day I could spin from a 70 punch once full boost hit. Couldn't spin from 40 on a cool day with the 255's.

I was lowered on Eibach Sportlines, but put the stock springs back on before selling the car and it still did not rub. I know the treadwear was much better then 200. There was no noticeable wear on the tires by time I sold it and I put roughly 3-4k miles on them.

Those Kuhmo's are decent as well, my friend had them on his LNF with a GT3076r in a 265 but he used a 5mm spacer with them.

You've piqued my interest, I have GMS1 on my car so obviously my tune is not as aggressive as yours was. How much did the Continental's run you?

I honestly don't remember. I can't find the ones I ordered in a quick search.

Here's a couple pics.

Keep this in mind tho, a 255 continental, may not be the same as a hankook 255.

It's all a standard. Section width. Contact patch might be different, but the actual tire width at it's widest part will be the same.

I don't remember paying that much, I had ordered mine from TireRack. It doesn't appear that they still carry them though.

What I think is funny though, is that I paid less for my 335's then most of those 255's listed on Tire Rack

can't wait, a few more good showers and no snow and I can swap insurances and get the SS out, so excited. Have any plans for the Mustang this summer?

i dont think i want 255's tho maby 235 or 245's. depends on how they would look on the rims. thought about those eagel GT's since they are cheaper but i burned through them so fast on the base.

oh BTW if anyones in need of some 18 inch tires 225/40/18's barum bravuris 2 i got a set with 6/32 max on them was going to use them this summer but i might have money to just get new tires. http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/fil...clr=*&x=30&y=5

So it turns out I'm getting a bigass tax refund. I'm looking at some performance mods. I think I'm gonna go with a high rise, some neons, and a few flame decals and call it a day.

I really want to go turbo but I'll probably just get some projectors, maybe some springs and new rims and call it a day. I can't really justify spending 2000+ on performance mods with gas being damn-near $4 a gallon. I was joking about everything except the high rise...and the neons.

What's wrong with you!?!?!?!? I'll justify performance mods even when gas hits $10 a gallon!

Or don't get the points in the first place.

Buy OTTP Stage 2 or ZZP.

If you get wheels, buy a set of LNF wheels.
