Having the head ported is good for like 20-30whp IIRC.

good for power yes but what about improving MPG?

i know should have never bought an SS for that, but MPG cars have no guts.

MPG is ALL in your foot. Not the car. I get 20+mpg with my car when I'm just cruising on the highway. I could get towards 40mpg when I had my balt, or get 20mpg.

I can't believe you even want to consider putting 87 in your car. You'll destroy a boosted motor with 87, it's garbage gas.

You'll get better fuel economy with 93 anyways.

thats what ive heard. but heres what confuses me, if E 85 is less than 87 why is it so popular with boosted? ive seen the numbers and is impressive. wish they sold it out here in BFE

It's 85% ethanol. 105-110 octane.

its cheaper, but has a much higher octane. the problem is that the octane rating fluctuates from batch to batch and should/needs to be tested

swooped

Yep, pretty much race gas that burns cooler so you can push the spark even more and run more boost then you can with race gas.

Haha yeah E-85 is wayy higher and burns cooler. The price of gas sucks now but think about how much you are losing using 93 vs 87 when you fill up. Factor in how much it costs for a new engine an you have my answer.

honestly its not that much of a difference. premium is what? 20 cents more a gallon? on a 10 gallon fill up, thats only $2. big deal. if you fill up once a week, thats still only $104 a year. if you cant afford that, you shouldnt have bought an ss.

What's it in for? Both the F250 and Sierra 2500's are awesome trucks. I want a 02-06 Sierra 2500 for myself.

If anybody is interested or has friends who are looking, my car will be going up for sale in an hour or so. Extremely well taken care of and babied like none other (many can vouch for me on this).

Cheers.
