Anybody here have lawyer friends? I'm getting tired of just having my neons on in parking lots and ramps/bridges so I think I found a way to have them on and be perfectly legal.
MI Vehicle Code Art. 4, Sect 257.698
Michigan Legislature - Section 257.698
So it looks like as long as I have on a solid red, and only red everywhere except the front I am within the law. It works out because my front tube stays broken so that takes care of the front requirement. It'd be great if someone with legal experience could verify this for me. I don't see what the big ******* deal is--lots of things to distract other drivers (cellphones, gps, etc). Plus, the law was written 72 years ago and could stand to be updated. Either way, I'm carrying around a copy of the vehicle code. Best thing about working evenings is that I've got all day to be in court fighting tickets.

I have a buddy who put marker lights all over his truck and in order for him to be legal his lights had to point outward from the frame rails and not be underneath. amber front and sides and red in the back.
running the neons that were the right color in the right spot would be legal.you will get pulled over though and have to argue it with the cop, trust me my buddy got pulled over all the time till he agrued it with every cop in midland and saginaw county.
Speaking of midland and saginaw county I saw 2 SS's one black and the other was silver. one in Freeland at the gas station and the other at the stripclub in saginaw.

Only amber and solid white are allowed. No flashing colors other then amber.
Biggest reason is because they don't want you being confused for an emergency vehicle.
