So i no longer have a balt, it lost brakes today and ran a stop sign and hit a mini van. she was doing like 65+ and i was doing 40. I could not get the car out of gear or anything, knocked me out and i spent a few hours in the hospital. either way the car is totaled. I have to go pull my new interceptor out of it tomorrow, but other than that idk yet. I've already found a 08 TC with 11k on it. If the insurance pays the KBB on the car I'll go pick the TC up.

Wow, wtf.

Every time I read this thread, you had something new put in/done to your cobalt and now it's smashed.

Best of luck to you. Glad to see you plan on getting another cobalt.

the car has over 3k in mods easy.
ZZP S3
2.9
60's(spoken for)
gms3 belt
the HE is smashed
dual pass plate(spoken for)
Phenolic spacer
brand new interceptor and aem uego
Recaro's
LSD trans
rear zzp trans mount
ZZP s2 clutch, fidanza flywheel and LNF TOB
B&M STS
ZZP drillend and slotted rotors front and rear
zzp 2.7 pulley too
Bad mab header
ZZP 2.5 catted DP

I think that's everything, but i'll get pics of the car later, it's completely fucked. I lost brakes and blew a stop sign, hit a van in the wheel/fender. she had to be over 65mph cuz it spun my car well over 200 ft and twisted the entire nose and blew out every single window..... I'm going to snag my interceptor out of the a pillar later as they don't have a tarp over the car.

And of course, the silver TC i saw for 14k is gone already so i'm on the hunt for a 08+ balt at a dealer i can finance after my license if fixed and insurance does w/e they need to do.

Oh whatever man!!!! What track did you take your truck too? I'm thinking of taking my Vette to one just for fun. I just wanna go really fast for once w/o worrying about a Smoky following me.

Turbo Tim said that he knows of a TC that he told my Buddy "If you drive this car, you WILL buy it!". Got some tasteful mods and a brand new SC Trans (better ratio).

Lapeer, it's not a bad track unless it's windy out.

so here is what my car looks like now, insurance is sending someone to look at it and possibly check the brakes as to why they failed.

That's true. Everything can be replaced.
It's just the fact that it needs to be replaced, and more money and time has to go be used to do already what has been done, lol.

You can always try to work the dealers down, some will play ball and give you a great price while others won't.

Are you dead set on a Cobalt? Don't forget that you can explore your options and see what else is in your price range, and sports car prices are down right now.
