I'm a photo illustration major but my computer crashed and I lost photoshop. Someone on one of the GP forums made mine for me, hence why it's got a different username on it. There's also a quote at the bottom in white (site has a black background).

This is the new america. The age where economic efficiency bites us in the ass. As efficiency increases they need less and less humans to get the job done. Less people, less operational expenses, more profit.
Its not enough to be 'doing good' anymore. You gotta maximize profit whenever possible.
This is capitalism.
Lifter and I have already had a conversation about this.

They're doing great. But the reason for budget cuts are;
Last year we did an enormous server refresh in our Datacenter. Upgraded about 25 servers to ESX servers to allow for larger virtualization. An ESX server that we require is about 8k a pop. Reason for the refresh was because we wanted to replace servers out of warranty.
And we purchased another backup server (we use a thing called Commvault....very expensive) which was 15k for the hardware alone, not including how much they charge us for their software. So they got yelled at and cut our budget. So what's the first thing to go? The bottom line.

Anyone in mentor area see my brothers' old cobalt running around? You might want to tell them to stay out of boost till its warmer out.
They are probably running pretty lean up top!
All black, lowered on Eibach sportlines, and debaged. The intercooler halo sprayer is tucked inside the bottom of the front bumper.

Lifter that sucks man, I'm sorry to hear that. At least you didn't get laid off. I was working at a bigger motorcycle dealership in Canton until mid-October when myself and about 5 others were laid off. I was out of work until the second week of January. It's tough but I'm sure you'll figure something out. Good luck man.

Hopefully a second job on weekends proves me otherwise!

If you were a little earlier, I probably could have gotten you an interview at B&W. I already referred some one and he's probably getting hired in though =\.
Bottom line makes sense to cut. We're paid hour;y so it's easier to shift around hours to create coverage still. I'm just the "Intern who knows it all" so everyone depends on me, so they get screwed too.
Besides, I can think of easier ways to lower costs. Re-use old hard ware (even if it's out of warranty). We have about 200k worth of equipment that is in perfect condition, but just isn't being used because it's no longer warrantied.

IT is also considered as overhead. Every company is cutting overhead right now.
Hope everything works out for you soon. This might only be a short lived cut. They usually don't last to long once people start to complain that they can't get help on things.

If you go to the University of Akron, go to the Tech Forum they hold every fall. I got 2 jobs from that. It's a great way to find a place that'll give you a chance. Before I had any I.T. experience, I had people hire me in and teach me everything I needed to know to begin my career. I'd highly suggest it.
