its an SS because of the wheels, all power options, bigger engine, body,... ability to take 93 octane... etc. its a huge step over base models and 2.2s... but its not forced induction.
my idea of a true SS is the forced induction.

wellllll techinallyyy... in 06 the 2.4s had SS badges, but in 08 it was made a black sheep and called the Sport. which is what i have. a wimpy sport badge i placed on the center piece of the grill.
while we are talking about my car, does anyone know a good tuner for me? im getting that over axle pipe soon and after that and the muffler goes in, the shift plus and springs should follow suit, but i would like to know of a local tuner....

Bigger injectors, header, DP, exhaust, intake, maybe some new spark plugs and maybe even get the larger 2.4 intake manifold. You should get a little over 200 with all of that, if not more.
And with the DP, I can probably have my brother weld in a 2.5in section at the 02 sensor, since it pinches down to 2in there.

are you talking about the extruded honed manifold from gm?
ugh downpipe.
ugh exhaust.
my SRI is fine.
maybe spark plugs.
lol after this over axle/muffler combo, gonna figure out where to go from there.

If you want more power you need three basic things.
more fuel
more air
and earlier spark advance.
If you are doing mods to reduce airflow restriction (intake, exhaust, headwork, etc.) you are basically trying to get more air into the engine.
Well that wont do you any good unless you add more fuel to match it.
I'm guessing that the stock injectors on an NA cobalt dont have much margin for injecting more fuel than they do now. So I'm guessing they are nearly maxed out.
Basically you might need bigger injectors to keep up with the additional airflow.

A tune is definitely needed for bigger injectors.
As far as spark plugs go, I'm assuming you are replacing them because the current ones are old and need replaced?
You wont get more spark advance by putting in different plugs. Getting more spark advance is achieved via tuning.

And I wasn't tlaking about your air intake; I'm talking about the plastic intake manifold that your air intake is connected to. There's a high-flow GMPP intake you can get that's 2.2/2.4 compatible. It'll increase airflow, so with new injectors you'll benefit more because fo increase airflow.
Or you could just supercharge it

right thats what im thinking, isntt it the steel extruded honed manifold the one we are talking about?
jeeesus, then id have to get the injectors, like last lol, no i wont need the spark plugs they should be fine...
alright then. so header/dp combo is next.
at the rate im going, i dont wanna try supercharged, im already squeezing funds.

lol the honed manifold is the header. I am fairly certain there is another manifold you can get, but it's the intake manifold.
Header/DP will help with a new exhaust. Especially one with a high flow cat.
Get a higher flowing intake manifold with your air intake, and get the next step up in injectors and you should be able to tune and get some better results from it.

so this: Cobalt & Ion ---> ZZ Performance
and this: BAD-MAB.com
the gmpp honed manifold will have clearance issues on an automatic...
then injectors... THEN tune.
