well guys i just got the GMP clutch kit in, and FYI the kit does not come with the alignment tool, nor does it say on CED's website that it doesnt come with it or its reccomended. Since ive done numerous clutch jobs its not that big of a deal, and ill be on a lift but if someone was trying to do the swap in the driveway it would be a pain in the ass. Just thought id let everyone now since there is a few guys on here that are considering going with this kit.

well after some researching and three dealers later i finally found one that had the trans fluid in stock. Believe it or not its the exact same fluid as the one posted above same part number and everything. And when i was draining the LSD trans it was reddish in color too just like dextron III

Hit me up Kenny this weekend.

Old man Joe mentioned arena racing before, but tomorrow night (Friday) they're doing $5 tickets, something to do that's cheap @ the Coliseum at 7:30pm. Sat night is $10 @ 7:00pm.

well trans is pulled and on the ground. took about 3hrs. the hardest part was the dam starter and getting the electrical components moved around up top. weird as bad as my clutch was slipping the friction disc really wasnt as bad as ive seen, but the flywheel had bad hot spots. Joe id like to go tom but im bringing the flywheel in to have it machined then were going to install the G85. But maybe saturday nite.

wow this place is dead. I wanted to clear a few things up as there is alot of mis imformation floating around on this forum. My dealer told me that the trans fluid for our F35 trans was GM#88861800 this is wrong. This transmission fluid is for use in the F23 trans for the 2.2l and the 2.4l. I talked to joe for a while and Maven on these boards, and this is the part number for the F35 transmission #21018899. Its actually labeled as saturn manual trans fluid which is Gl4 rated. Joe had came up with a part number#88862472, upon research i discovered that this is the part number for the newer fluid that was developed for the SS/TC which has a modifier in it for the NLS aplications. The cobalt SS/SC can use the newer part number in our cars, but the TC's need the newer part number for theres. Just wanted to clear some things up as there is alot of information on her that is very mis leading and the dealers dont even know. Here are some pics of what the cobalt SS/SC fluid looks like

a shot of my burnt flywheel lol

car should be back together tonite!!!

a pic of the newly resurfaced flywheel

You are correct. The stuff Wayne posted is for the F23 trans. The bottle you got with the Saturn label is correct for the F35 LSJ trans. I hear you about the dealer misinformation. I have 2 Cobalts to take care of and find that if I don't do my homework I end up with the wrong stuff.

Just on the other side of the MMBT in Western Branch. When I go to Warren's I take the JRB. I get off work at 5.30. If you'd like, give me your address and I'll bring the tool when I'm off work.

You only have 2 because you're trying to compensate for something missing or broken. And, at least mine works. Besides, yours are so old that they're probably rusty and deteriorating.

well guys good news is i got the trans in last nite got the infamous pain in the ass slave bled and everything serviced. Clutch feels great pedal feels great (engages a lot closer to the floor now though) But after hooking the battery up and starting the car my dam battery light comes on. I used a multimeter and the alternator isnt putting out. But i didnt touch none of the leads for the alternator except for the reference wire that went to the starter and all connections are good. Any ideas?

might just be a couple of start cycles before it goes away. If you voltage is good then I wouldn't be concerned right now.

the voltage isnt good tho with the car off the battery reads 12.50sih volts when you start it she drops to 11ish so the alternator isnt putting out
