I had the GMPP exhaust and it is louder but not as loud as the Corsa. I honestly haven't heard a quiet exhaust yet. I have seen a few people get the last bit of piping (axle back) changed along with the muffler. The change in volume was negligible.

the gmpp sport exhaust is the best sounding exhaust for our cars period. The "loudness is well within reason, and it flowed quite well. I almost regret upgrading to a larger diameter exhaust. But I already have a fix for that.

In all seriousness, I think I'm going to switch over to vinyl too. I noticed (damn me for saying anything in the first place) that the paint job I did on my trunk badge is starting to chip off. I'm going to scrape off the paint and get some silver vinyls. Nonetheless, the paint lasted 3 ˝ years. Not bad for a rattle can. May I have a link to that thread?

Also, thanks for info Danew, Doc, and Warren. I'll look into the GMPP Sport Exhaust.

You're doing it wrong.

1) You're on the sidewalk,
2) You're in a fire lane, and
3) The sign on the door clearly says DO NOT BLOCK.

Where is Warren when you need him. He should have pulled you over for that.

I like the raised ones posted at the end (page 2)! Very nice looking. Mine were the houseofgrafx.com ones.

I did some looking into the GMPP "sport" exhaust. Unfortunately, I could not find a "sport" exhaust. I did find a "touring" (GM part number 17802110) and "performance" (17802111) exhaust systems. Which one did you guys mean? There is a sound file on CED's website. They also require the purchase of tips separately in straight or angled (17802112 and 17802113). I wonder which tip would look better.

There's only 2. The touring and performance. I have the performance, the touring is more quiet but is the same thing. Also. I have the angle cut tip, which I think looks the best

cooling is over rated i have ran a 2.7 for 50k miles with nothing but a cobra and hell i even took that off after it was damaged in my accident. Its about the driver. Monitor ur iat2 temps and dont due back to back pulls and drive ur car hard but not beat on it thats the difference!!!!

connor i have the GMP performance before i did my vibrant header and downpipe with cat delete its was nice sounding no rasp and a big noticeable difference in torque. when i added the header and downpipe with cat delete its loud but my exhaust still isnt raspy unless its just been started and shes cold

For the issue of smaller pulleys and IAT2 temps... Having tuned a bunch of these, the smaller the pulley, the more heat is generated in the intake charge. Once the IAT2 temps hit 122*, the timing starts getting pulled resulting in a loss of HP. Higher than that, the pulled timing gets more aggressive. Without supporting cooling mods, you end up chasing your tail for gains because of this.

Exhaust, flow and noise... Hell, I did some work on this and had a BIG FAIL!! I wanted good flow and minimal noise. I had the Vibrant header/dp setup. All 2-1/2" piping. In the center section I had two Magnaflow (18" and 14") welded together for the resinator section. Actually moved the catback flange forward 8" to make room. The main muffler was an 18" body Magnaflow. End result: LOUD AS ****!! (a few of you may have heard it!) The reality is that good flow and sound attenuation are two entirely different issues. Actually the stock system ain't that bad. The OEM muffler is an amazing piece, having cut one open. A good header/dp setup will get the most gains.

That BS said... How about a G2G this weekend???

So, the stock catback vs. gmpp cat back doesnt make a significant performance difference?

I don't see how you can say that cooling isn't important. If it wasn't then why does almost every exotic or highly modified car have upgraded cooling modifications? And saying don't do back to back runs just means that your car isn't all that safe anyway. I do back to back pulls all the time when tuning, and it has no effect on the car because it's being cooled properly. I don't have to wait for my car to get a drink of water..., it's always ready to go.

i said its over rated not unimportant theres a difference. And ive done back to back pulls in the past but even with cooling mods its more effecient to give the car like one min to cool in between runs. Thats all it takes. to each his own. But i have yet raced a balt that has beat me, then again i wasnt tuned around here either

Do you remember what the difference may have been, cause I think when I dyno'd stock and then with the exhaust it was only about 7 or 8 hp difference
