but yeah... i figure there is no point in spending money to secure the current exhaust when im going to immediately turn around and replace the entire exhaust system (except for the cat) and then need to retune again... so imma do the exhaust as soon as i am financially able to, and tune then...

the car is running decent right now... the only problem im having is that i cannot have the AC on while city driving... one out of four times it will stall out when i come to a stop, and its harder to put it in to first as the motor revs down immediately as soon as i let off (Where as when the ac is off, it feels like it anticipates the shift and slowly revs down when i take my foot off the gas).... i guess my lightweight flywheel is causing another inconvenience...

Hey Joe, click the link i put up in my last post about the header and tell me what you think (including the part where they mention the subframe will need to be modified).

eh, its not all about showing like a show car... any cars accepted and proceeds go to CHKD, so its all beneficial. its about coming out and having a good time...

plus there are a lot of people that come through to look just at people's motor builds...

Well depending on how things look if anyone else is willing to show their car, I will show mine. Anything to help CHKD out. I'm into showing cars, did it with my orange cobalt and plan to with the blue one.

i just updated the flyer... if you guys can come through, we'll have a cobalt class. i just got off the phone with the community relations director for the club, he said that as of now, we have 20 sponsors paying for 20 best of trophies, and additional sponsors covering 18 1st/2nd classes. Those classes will be created the day of the event so that we can class the best based on whats there. We are also working to get a mobile dyno there, and if we do, there will be a trophie for the highest dyno pull. I'll keep you all updated on the status of the dyno.

Irony: When OE parts fail while you're collecting aftermarket parts to replace said OE part.

Can anybody recommend a quality down pipe and catalytic converter that works with the GMP touring exhaust without affecting the sound too much?

Is anybody interested in attending the Army Birthday Ball at the ******* Hotel in Washington DC on the 12th? My sister and her husband were going to go, but a death on her husband's side of the family has changed that. The organizing committee is giving her until the 10th to give them names of the people going in their place. The person that gets the tickets must have DoD identification to get through security. The tickets are worth $87 each. They are willing to accept any offer in an attempt to recover some of their cost.

yes i am back again. and congrats the kiddo bro.

Also I just put in the new catless DP I got. I'm throwing a code now, I haven't scanned it yet to check it out. I assumed its the code for the o2 sensor after the cat not reading right. Can that cause any long term problems? (ie the o2 sensor going bad) Also I' registered in VA, so with a VA inspection I know I need to have the cat converter. I'll change the the DP back before I go get it inspected.

I really just want to know if having that o2 sensor in and not reading right will mess up the sensor, or should use and o2 bung plug and just leav the o2 sensor out?

its the infamous PO420 code your sensor isnt seeing the trims the computer wants to see. You can get a spacer to put in the bung and bring the sensor out some to trick it into seeing the trims it wants, but its not gona do any damage and i just have the code disabled with hp tuners so it doesnt cause the CEL to come on. Oh and it helps to know a State inspector as well

Wayne has the L61 Ecotec. Last I heard, HPT can't tune it. Wayne needs a Trifecta tuner.

Yes I do have the L61... I've been thinking about getting a Trifecta tune, but then I think about it again, and I say my car's not modded enough for a tune yet. Plus its rather tiem comsuming, considering I'm getting ready to go on deployment again in January 2011. I don't really have the time it takes to get everything set and done since I'll be going back out to sea pretty offten as we ramp up for cruise.

I'll try the spacer trick... this weeked and reset the code and see what happens.
