Stikman, I got my sleeving done from a shop called Abacus Racing. They did the entire process in house, and the work was top notch. i believe everyone on this thread for the most part was able to see the work in the shortblock. As long as you have instructions, they will do it to your specs. My block was reinforced with the bates sleeves since the Darton sleeves took forever to be released.

Pricewise, you're looking in the neighborhood of 800 bucks for everything to be done.

Mindrot, soon. I've been taking it somewhat easy on the car. I go to Chicago for the meet this thursday, adn when I'm back, the fun will start again. It won't be long..., I even bought a camcorder for street runs. should be a good time.

Deathscythe did they reassemble ur block too or did you do it yourself...& as far as i kno the darton sleeves are good for all 2.0L+ ecotec blocks: LSJ, LNF, L61 & LE5. I'm not sure tho but I was told dats y they can b bored anywhere from 86-90mm. How long ago did you get yours sleeved...?

Abacus Racing in VA Beach is the one who did Danew's. Ask for Chuck. He's been doing quality work (****, he's as old as me!) for more years than most of you have been alive.

Danew is the ACE engine builder. Period.

If Danew is the ace engine builder, then I'd like to be the suspension guru. My car may not be lowered, but I'm willing to bet that I probably have the most suspension and brake work done to my car(s), and I'm not done.

I don't want to turn this into a ***** measuring contest, so I'll say what I'm going to say and leave it at that. You and I do have a lot of the same suspension mods, but where the similarities end my list continues. Also, you're lowered and I'm not, but that doesn't mean I haven't done a spring swap either. And, I forget, do you have axles? I'm done with driveshaft shop. I've had problems with them coming out while driving, flinging grease all over the passenger side of the engine bay, and now one of them came apart while I was working on my cabs. I them only 15 months. I'm trying out the OTTP stage 1 axles.

Cars 2 is truth. I've known about it since Kim went to Disney World back in October. Also, Transformers 3 comes out next summer.

Your best bet is to buy it off of crate engine depot for 485

http://www.crateenginedepot.com/stor...P2292C196.aspx

Take it to the dealer and get it installed/flashed. They will probably end up charging you the full 2 hours of labor.

There are plenty of them like that. Don't rely on the parts guys for to much. No one really bought the stage kits from the dealers unless the dealer offered some really cool discount to beat crateenginedepot.com

Same thing with my dealer though my service advisor insisted that my car was supercharged and that i was not handing her the lnf upgrade kit. Even after pulling out the paper and reading it she still said this was the supercharger upgrade kit. After typing in the service number and sending it to the mechanic the guy had to come out and see wtf he was working on....then he was like Oh this is the turbocharged model yea i can do this.

The only thing I say you do is tell the dealer to solder the wires together.

You are turning it into a contest, to claim to be a suspension "guru" is a pretty bold claim hence Kenny and I's joking response.

I've ran more setups than I care to list on past cars, competed @ road course and a couple sanctioned auto-x events, and have done many suspension related installs on many vehicles. Do I think I'm a guru? Nah.

I only wasted time typing that as you totally contradicted your goal and tried to downplay Kenny. Regardless, I think we both know we couldn't touch him @ Langley so hey. I will openly admit I couldn't, and have no plans to try, not worth the risk nor do I have the funds for possible results of . Or ***** as Kenny would say , *******!

On the axle note I truly believe some aftermarket axles are great, but I've also seen OEM ones outlast aftermarket "stage xxxxxx's" at the same time.

Yea same on the sound system. I would love to upgrade all the stock pioneer stuff to a better quality. Only thing is I'm below a noob when it comes to sound sytems.

exactly im still on my stock axles and cut the same 60' as connor did on slicks. I have 54k on my car now and been to many track events and races. People that break axles dont know how to launch these cars. I wasnt turing anything into a pissing contest i dont have too. Theres no other cobalt around here that has as many wins on and off the track as mine does. That may change soon but to date it hasnt yet. I enjoy driving my car hard and pushing the limits its in my blood its what i do. And after finding out about the tune on my car and STILL having done so good in it, it boils down to the driver. Connor i know you have alot of mods quite frankly more so than me. BUT you havent ran times like i have or participated in some events like me. Now i know you have your reasons being that you dont have another car to drive but guess what neither do I. Its a risk i take. I look forward to seeing your car, Danews, and joes car running great times at the track. Even old man joe if he decides to grow a pair. Im sure danew will eventually be running alot better times than me at the track. I aint mad ill just see what ill have to do next. Its never ending
