Man been awhile since i been on here. havent looked on here cause stopped funding the car. But now looking to do something with it. I still have the warrenty and dont want to put a SC kit on and void it. How much you think it would be to buy the SCkit from GM and have dealership to put on to still keep warrenty? even if they can do that.
other option was goingwith MazdaSpeed 3 when i get back from deployment...
O, i got some nicks on the car and think trading in for SS will actually cost me alot more seeing i still owe 6700 on it.
Thanks

What's up everyone? I can genuinely say that I miss all my old Cobalt buddies. Man did I have some good times at meets and whatnot back when I had the 'balt. But alas, the Miata/MX-5 world, while consistently producing dope cars......doesn't seem to have the good "vibe" the Cobalt community had. So in short....I miss my old scene....but I don't miss the car....not one bit, lol.
Anywho, just wanted to check in and say whats up. I'll leave you all with a few updated pictures of my on-going Mazdaspeed MX-5 project
And finally, I thought this pic was pretty cool. Two of my good friend's cars.

I'm still doing some research on what I plan to do when I get back from overseas. If possible, I would like to ride in a stage 2 supercharged cobalt. I would like to see how much pull it has. I test drove a mazdaspeed3 but couldn't gt on it hard cause I was with car dealer.
Shifting was smooth though and easy.
Basically it would be Zen body kit, tint windows, SC kit, and 18 inch wheels OR 15g for the speed3
Ill be here til Jan 3rd if someone can help me out. I can start buying parts while I'm overseas
Thanks

Thats what i been coming too. like 60% towards it. i was looking at evos but the interior is major fail. cant really mod it to much, 330 hp is about the safe point for stock internals and turbo but also read that cause its FWD, 330 is just enough. any over you will loose traction.
still researching other cars though.

ah, trying to go baller status i see :P. sucks that there's not much of a group following anymore on this forum. would have loved to get up with a hampton area virginia group. Before i knew about these forums i swear i saw a meet at lynnhaven mall. 8 cobalt ss's parked next to eachother at the ruby tuesday's. bummer i missed out

Don't feel too bad about missing stuff. There isn't anything to miss. The people who aren't deployed probably have their cars in many pieces, including mine. I'm pretty much getting a new bottom end to my engine under warranty. Spun the rod bearings on cylinder #1. When they pulled everything apart they realized the rods to cylinders #2 and #4 were bent. I'm surprised the car is still running. This also explains the 226 fwhp on the dyno back in August. The interesting part is, aside from the dyno numbers there was no indication there was a problem until the rod bearings spun. Kenny, if you had trouble keeping up with my car that one night, wait until she's back together, broken in, and retuned. Hell, even though I'm trying to sell the car now I'm also considering running at Wacky Wednesday a few times in order to establish a local reputation for the car in order to help it sell faster.
